It's not that we didn't recruit, it's that we didn't land some guys. There's a big difference.

That's not the point. The thread is about bringing in big time DTs, he was just that.

Just seems to be a bust

So is Brick Haley and Chief just not developing these guys or not evaluating these guys?

And the point of he thread is we don't have DT's that are up to the task and why? Where did it all go wrong? Evaluation of talent? Losing top targets to other schools? Devolving the talent we got? What?

We'll lose out on the top guys and scramble for filler recruits like we have the past few years.

I've been pointing this shite out for three years. The coaches have to be aware of this?

Lacouture and Thomas were simply the only guys who returned this year with ANY PT. Doesn't mean they are SEC quality.

The frick? We've brought in plenty of 4 and 5 star talent. They just aren't panning out or being developed.

Valentine is basically not even on the team and from reports is way out of shape. I hope all works out for him but so far this is looking like another swing and a miss for LSU.

Can you give me the powerball numbers Ms. Cleo?

Do yourself a favor and look at our DT recruits since 2009. That was the last year we had any kind of talent brought in at DT. IMO this is THE reason we are in no position to compete for championships.

Look no further than the 2012 recruiting class that Les brought in ONE freaking DL player. ONE!

I've never seen a great recruiter screw up royally that bad, and even if Toshiro Davis came we still only had 2 DL recruits and no DT recruits. But of course, it's not Les and companies fault.

Holy shite just shut the frick up. We're talking about kids with four years of eligibility left and you're already writing them off. Sweet fricking Jesus just because they don't dominate from the moment they step on campus doesn't mean they suck. You know who else got redshirted? Mike Brockers. He was pretty bad his RSfreshman year too. People called him soft and big for nothing. But then BOOM, he came out as a sophomore after working hard in the off-season to drop bad weight and was drafted in the top 15. To expect a 19 year old kid to come in and do well against an experienced SEC O-line is just ludicrous. They're young, give them some fricking time.

brockers was a 3* de. Calm down. It sucks a few guys arent stepping up, but its not lack of recruiting because then plenty teams miss evaluated these guys. They dont have to be 5* players to be good. sam montgomery redshirted then got hurt. Didnt make an impact until year 3 in the program.

Well in fairness, everybody missed on Anthony Johnson. Was LSU not supposed to offer the #1 DT prospect in the country?

Jesus Christ is Placebaux really bitching that we signed a ton of 4 and 5 star players?

If you want to bitch, bitch about coaching and player development. The guys we've brought in were all "SEC Caliber" players, recruited by and offered scholarships to multiple SEC schools.

frick me, what an idiotic thread.

What he should have said is we had a huge gap in the 2012 class where we didn't bring a single DT. Yes, we had a solid class last year but when has LSU ever relied on redshirt freshman at DT as starters?

We don't have any sec level DT's. Throw in the fact the we only signed 5 DT since 2010 I'm wondering where this ton of 4 and 5 star DT prospects are you speak of.
