Although this is not ideal by any means (getting in essence a bye week now and postponing the Florida game) this allows us to get healthy and...practice with the new staff.

The SEC is on record today as stating "The SEC has also said it will consider moving "other games on the schools' schedules" in an attempt to make Florida-LSU happen. The league says a conference game has never before been canceled due to natural causes." per CBS Sports' site.

Again...this is not ideal but all the SEC needs to do is move the UF/UGA game from 10/29 to 10/22...they both have byes currently on 10/22. Then, LSU/UF would play on 10/29, which is currently LSU's scheduled bye before Alabama.

Again, not optimal as we would finish Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama, Arky, South Alabama, A&M...but it can work and we get all the games in. Make it happen Sankey!!!

If the damn SEC forces us to go to Florida on 11/19 instead of this option when we did everything in our power to play this game this weekend.....

This is a really simple solution to this problem...not sure why it hasn't been mentioned by the SEC office yet.

just move the s alabama game to after texas a m and if either team is playing for the conference championship, then you just cancel the lsu s alabama game.

frick no.

We are not playing Bama, @Arky, @UF, @A&M to end our goddamn season with 3 hard road games after Bama.

frick that and frick you for suggesting it.

If Alleva agrees to that he should be fired on the fricking spot.

It's not out of the realm of possibility! Georgia would just be trading bye weeks and may even possibly be able to host in Athens as opposed to being the "home team" in Jacksonville. It'd also force Florida to play Georgia and LSU back to back. Not to mention Georgia plays Vandy for HC on the 15th.

They have a golden opportunity to screw Florida and benefit from another true home game in the process!

I agree with you. We'd be better off with one less game than that gauntlet.

Because it is not just a "really simple solution". You're now unnecessarily bringing another school into the mix, Georgia. LSU/UF and SEC couldn't solve their own problem, so now Georgia is forced to alter their schedule to fix a problem they had not part in creating? If LSU where in UGA's shoes in that scenario, LSU fans would rightfully lose their shite.

Plus, that game is not just a game, but an event in Jacksonville that is planned many months in advance. The Cocktail Party is a big deal for UGA fans and the City of Jacksonville. Changing the schedule on 2 weeks notice would almost assuredly affect many UGA fans and businesses in Jacksonville that have already planned on the game being 10/29. Plus, the Jags have a home game set the next day.

So, what would you do if you had tickets to the Wisconsin game, plane booked, hotels, time off work, and the SEC decided to move it back a week to accommodate another team. I have a feeling that the threads we are seeing today would be just as bad. That's why I don't believe it will happen. 11/19, sad to say.

Really why do they need to do this, move the SEC title game back a week and play the game first week of December. This is the simple solution.

No one has made plans yet for the SEC title game [ except Bama fans ]

So the SEC game in 2nd weekend of December, and LSU and Florida play the first weekend of December.

No hotel cancelations for Georgia and Florida fans
Many people plan their fall schedules around bye weeks and hotel reservations are made far in advance. Also Florida and Georgia both may want bye weeks before the big showdown.

This plan has a lot of logistic problems and quite frankly does not help LSU at all

sorry, this idea has been posted a dozen times now...you don't reschedule the Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party to accommodate LSU/Florida when Nov 19 can accommodate LSU/Florida.
