Ben Simmons wants to be a Magic Johnson type of player, and I think that is what best suits him. As I have said about Les Miles, I like the man , but I question his coaching ability. I like Johnny Jones, but I question his coaching ability. Next year, none of the returning players are top notch players with the possible exception of Blakeny. Robinson, Malone, Epps, and Bridgewater are bad. Epps has some ability, but not much. Is it possible that Blakeny and Quarterman leave? Yes. We will be bad. I could see Johnny staying, but he has got to get some real coaches in the program. Today, the team quit.

TBH, i'm ready for Simmons to move on... it shows that he really isn't committed to the team/college game..... he's biding his time, in an environment where he can play like HE wants, not how the coach wants, which is probably one of the things that got him here in the first place...

having Simmons actually makes the TEAM worse.... he's a great player, so i'm not shitting on the guy, but i'm saying he has a negative effect on the other players... and by that, i mean that they individually don't have a clear role while on the court with him, and they fail to act as a cohesive unit because of it... no one, it seems, knows what they are supposed to do, nor where they are supposed to be....

i'm praying Blakeney sticks around (i think he will) because with solid guys (not superstars) coming in, along with experience this year, we may have a decent little team next year...

but this year is done.... won't be much dancing, as today, the music pretty much died....

I am not jumping Simmons either. Imagine where we would be without him. The talent level and coaching are not there.

We wouldn't have 10 wins without Simmons

Agree Orange. Without Simmons and Victor, it would be a nightmare. Victor is above average, but he will never be more than that. The other big men are laughable.

maybe... but i do know we looked alright towards the end of last season, and a majority of those guys are back this season...

the #1 player in HS, coming in, and we are WORSE than last season..... there's something to that.... and i'm just giving my opinion on what i think it is...

Correct, majority of the players but a majority of the talent left. We saw early, without Hornsby and Victor how this team would rate.
Next year without Hornsby and Simmons, and possibly Quarterman its scary.

At one point today Simmons and Blakeney were 15 of 27 from the field. The rest if the team was 4 of 27.

Blakney, Sampson, Quarterman and Patterson are sub 33% 3 pt shooters on the year, yet this is Simmons fault.

I think the other players resent Simmons and the circus he brings, and everyday on sports enter seeing them drool all over him. I think the rest of the team is quitting on Simmons

How is this Simmons's fault? It's the coaches responsibility to tell them where they are supposed to be. Taking Simmons out of the equation is not the solution.

i'm not sure it's resentment (maybe TQ, but that's another story)... but i just think they don't know how to play with a guy that everyone is expecting to be amazing each and every time he touches the ball....

i think the expectation is for the offense to run through him, for him to get a majority of the shots, and when he is giving the ball up more than shooting, it throws them off... they don't know what to expect or do, because they are in an unexpected situation....

and because of that, the offense stalls and others can't get into a rhythm, as they don't know if they are to take up the slack or what.... it's a weird situation, and it's not going as anyone expected it to go.....

They miss Eric musselman pretty bad. I would like to think he would have helped this year.

I agree with this. But, somewhere in all that mess, the coach should bring order with set plays they can run over and over again, that coach has not done that.

And while the TEAM is worse this year, they played like this last year, but did have more rhythm on more occasions during a game. The current team goes a whole a game out of sink.

Of all the things you said, this is the most glaring, obvious and legit.

Not sure what led up to this but CJJ lost all but one player that saw the court today. Blakeny was the only kid who looked like he gave a shite.

How can we expect him to get them back? And even if by some miracle he does, it's in all likelihood too late.

Almost seemed like a mutiny out there, that was ugly.

I'd say yes but with a twist....accountability, accountability, accountability.
