You guys have to remember that this is going to be played in the stadium and there's going to be a lot of reverb. The voice quality is a lot clearer to compensate for that.

Dan sounds like he doesn't want to be there.
The video was great. The voice ruined it for me.

C'mon...that's not the issue.

Dan is great at what he does...but there's presumable a REASON LSU paid a professional and renowned voice over actor to do the first one, right?

Why not have the same guy do it again?

Or for that matter, you could literally find thousands upon thousands of voice over professionals to do this kind of work on line.

I appreciate that Borne wrote it, and I love it...but it was better with someone else reading his words.

Because Borne has a better connection to LSU football than a random professional.

And? What on Earth does that matter when you're trying to get the best to do a thing?

After listening to it again, the recording isn't even of high quality. Listen to how bad the recording is at the point where Dan says, "It is haunted and it is loud."

Honestly...do you guys remember when NC State ripped our version of this for their stupid basketball stadium? My biggest complaint outside of straight of theft of the idea, was that it sounded like their voice over guy had recorded it in a men's room stall. That's about what this sounds like...

Again...love Borne. Tiger Stadium will not be the same once he calls it quits...but this is not done well and it hurts the final product, which had been AWESOME!

I was sitting next the old guy who makes these at magpie cafe one Saturday. He was making this video there.

Nice guy

"It's not the same as the old one! I want the past to come back! Waahhhh!"

It's a freaking football stadium not a movie theatre.

No...it's not as GOOD as the old one, that's the problem. There is literally no way any one would try and argue the audio on the first is not superior in every way. If they wanted to update the video to include newer or other highlights...fine. But to do it by having Borne do it, and use a VERY sub par audio file in order to accomplish it is, well...kind of disappointing. Sounds like Dan recorded that on his phone...the levels are all jacked and there almost sounds like there is no filter used at all.

That video was really one of the highlights of pre-game...sorry to see it go for literally no good reason.

FWIW, you seem to be the only one who really likes this version...you work on it or something?

Oh just stfu already. You're blinded by some form of fandom that most people can't understand. The new voice over on that video is terrible and will sound terrible in Tiger Stadium compared to what they played last year. The good thing is our pregame production is always such a cluster frick that this video will probably be playing right as the team runs out and the band starts playing so you won't really hear it anyway.

The old one is indeed way better.

The words to the new didn't flow at all and it was flat and monotonous.

In the old one, the lines were just put together so much better.

The only thing about the pregame production that seems to be off kilt is that Les Miles can never keep the team in the locker room until the appropriate time. Once the team is on the sidelines the pregame production seems to flow in a timely fashion right up until kickoff. I did notice that this video is about a minute longer than the previous video. I wonder how that will play out with the timing as that video normally starts immediately following the coin toss.

well, that may be true. But these videos and high production quality are what fans want. Period. It is what fans sit around in their offices and play to get them excited for football. They send them to friends and post them on facebook. It creates enthusiasm and exposure.

They want weekly pump up videos, they want funny videos with their favorite players, they want interviews, they want access and LSU is not giving it to them.

I'm not there and don't like to tell others how to do their job, but it appears that after 2011, LSU stopped producing the fun pump up videos for fans because maybe they cut that department.

It shouldn't be a surprise that fans want more of 2011 style production.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who realizes this. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it does seem to kill the "climax" of the pregame pageantry when Miles runs the team out before the video is even halfway done playing and occasionally before the band and cheerleaders are even set.

I prefer the original, but I didn't think this one was that bad. I kind of liked that it was a slower.

Dan sounded a little odd, but maybe I'm just too used to the old narration.

There's a guy that stands right by the tunnel entrance with a headset on. He tells Miles when to come out.
