re: SI seems to be saying the players laid down last year over O's Trump remarks-is that true?

So, they have about as much a clue as you.

They should be extremely happy with the way things are going today.

If this is true it shows how mentally weak LSU’s players are and explains why they’ve sucked the last two seasons.

There’s a new study out. It’s claiming an outrageous growth in victimosis in last 15 years. It affects the majority of lower class, some middle, and a select few of the top 1%.

How much should one pay to support a group of young men that lay down on the team over something like that? Clearly there is no gratitude for the opportunity to play for LSU.

LSU-Woke began during this period with this BS. Or rather, it raised its ugly little head and lifelong LSU fans began not caring about Woke Tigers anymore. Like it or not, Wokies. Truth.

I don't know the answer, but wasn't the interview with Sandra Smith, former LSU T&F athlete? I.e. there was an LSU connection and an opportunity to pimp LSU to a nationwide audience. And you make a passing, innocuous statement about being treated well at the White House, and that the then President was doing good things trying to support college football. And a bunch of thin skinned, priveleged punks use that as motivation to shite on you? Says more about them than the coach, and I'm pretty agnostic about the whole situation.

Agreed.

Orgeron was on Fox News because at the time college football was being held hostage due to politics. Orgeron was complimenting the president for his work to get college football back on track, and for showing his team a good time at their championship celebration.

Ryan Clark is responsible for all of this.

Too much is being read into this. Nobody visits the white house and then says I hate the president. The players clearly had a good time regardless of political stance. It was just another narrative to divide.

Y’all are severely underestimating how successful the media was in turning people against Trump with the one-two punch of COVID and George Floyd.
Those same players who had a blast at the White House in January 2020 wouldn’t have gone at all in July 2020. Orgeron failed to grasp what was going on, and the team quit on him for it. That’s what happened, no matter what we want to think.

Now, we should be grown ups about it and realize we don’t have to hate or disown the players just because they were wrong about something that was important to them.

The players had a good time amongst themselves at the White House. Go look at the team around trump. Hardly anyone was smiling in that photo. African Americans hate Trump. Record numbers came out to vote against him.

When I listened with my eyeballs how Coach O handled that, I too "heard" blind spots of his for players on his team who were hurting.

Coach Saban did not have blind spots.

Exactly. That’s why they refused to visit him at the White House…oh wait.

It seems pretty clear to me after reading several articles on O he did in fact lose his team. The players dictated everything and this is a culture problem at LSU right now. It started with Miles and got worse with Orgeron. Part of is his fault because he didn't instill discipline programs and he also didn't identify the character at any point whether it was recruiting or beyond. LSU needs to drain the swamp and someone needs to come in to instill new culture into the program.

The leftist political angle to this story is a gigantic fricking joke. It had nothing to do with the fall of Orgeron at LSU.

Seems the "tone deaf" issue Mike Gundy had at OK State hasn't affected their unbeaten No. 8 ranked football team. Unlike Ed, he is actually a competent coach.
