I am so tired of all the complaining.
Everyone agrees CLM was a great guy, but his coaching philosophy was old and tired and ONLY worked when he a substantial talent disparity. His recruiting worked most of the time and that is why we were destined to be a 9-3 team, +/- 1 game.
We are young and talented, but more importantly we and over booked as hell at some positions (DB's, TE, FB) and Less talented and undermanned at others (OL, DL).
Team recruiting rankings are useless if they don't address positions of need, in hind sight LSU failed miserably.
You could put any coach (Saban, Herman, Fisher) in CEO's position, all of them would be in the same predicament. CLM got us into this predicament and it will have to run its course and hopefully we can recruit our way into a better situation or until we get better play at some positions. We are probably an 8-4 or 9-3 team this year with ANY BIG NAME COACH.
College Football is entirely predicated on three things and in this order.
1. Recruiting
2. Play Calling
3. Developing Players
I'm hoping that CEO's recruiting pays off, he has hired some of the best at play calling (give CDA time to figure out what he has to work with) and finally look to see advancements in techniques as players mature.

You are right on and any championship team is built with great line play first and foremost.

Miles fault.
All you had to post was those two words.
And I disagree. Coach O had this team most of the season last year AND he has been part of the coaching staff for at least a year on top of that.
And now, after being blown out by MS ST and subpar performance with other games, it is a talent issue.
That is NOT what was sold last year when O took over. That is NOT what was sold in the Spring. That is not what was sold before the season started.
In Coach O's term, "flip the script" and don't wait until the fifth game of the season to do it either. Offense looks worse than last year. Defense is marginally a step back.
Adapt or get the boot. But the blame on Miles has little merit, especially in Coach O's case.

Why did we hire basically the same thing except worse
Lol a DL coach
How often do those work out as HC?

Then maybe you should tell that to O because he stated last year we'd challenge to be in the playoffs this season. This whole "young and thin" thing didn't start until O's people realized we were struggling even against avg opponents. Boom. Suddenly we became Vandy. Dangdest thing.

This is what I'm saying. I'm not giving Orgeron a free pass. I do think there are problem areas and they need to be addressed. The only way you can build championship teams is to bring in the recruits and the coaches you need. This is what I think CEO is attempting to do, so I'm giving him a shot to right the ship before I start panicking and melting. It's fricking college football, players are constantly changing! RELAX!

This team was pre season ranked in the teens and rightfully so. A body expecting a team with this much youth and lack of depth on either side of the line of scrimmage to be a top 5 1 or 2 loss team is simply being unrealistic. This is a 15-20 ranked team and that's most likely where they'll finish.

Dude You shut up sit down and listen. There isnt one thing in your post that is accurate. Learn the game and then run your mouth.

Wrong. I refuse to believe that if Jimbo , Saban, or any other proven coach would have this team looking lost and wandering in the wilderness like it is. This team has no identity or direction and that has nothing to do with lack of personnel and everything to do with coaching.

LSU should never lose by 30 to Mississippi State under any circumstances.

Miles looked for and recruited by "stars" and then looked in some cases to convert them.
Saban, per previous players and coaches, looks for players that FIT the system, thus he does not waste years re-developing them. Much more efficient.
