Falcons not bringing him back. He's 48 and has about 6 or 7 years NFL coaching experience. Dude definitely has personality. Go check him out on hardnock.

Are you saying that he won't be coaching in the NFL. Obviously he is talented enough too the Falcons Dline was pretty damn good.

He'll get an NFL gig pretty quickly I think. Still can't believe ATL let him walk. But then again, ATL.

Intriguing - but he's never coached in college. He didn't even go to a big school (Western Illinois). Even if he had, his recruiting experience as a player is 30 years ago.

So, while he might be an A-grade Xs and Os type coach, he would have to learn recruiting essentially from scratch. That might be okay if he had the relationships with an source area for recruits, but he's from East St. Louis.

Yeah - I know that Jenkins isn't going to recruit at all - but he's also got somewhat better credentials as a DL coach - arguably the best DL coach in CFB history.

I say yes. Pete Jenkins is a great defensive line coach, but let's be real he's 75 guys. We can keep Jenkins but need some younger blood to help out also

Bryan Cox has done works here in ATL. I would love to have him at LSU, the question then becomes does he really want to recruit. Coach O doesn't play that game.

I doubt an nfl dline coach would go backwards to cfb dline coach. I cant believe ATL let him walk.

Also Karl Dunbar had been a nfl dline coach for 1 year. Not 7.

Ahhh, yes you were partially correct. He went to LSU after 1 year with the Bears but then......10 yrs in the NFL before the found his way to Bama.

Chicago Bears (2004)
Louisiana State University (2005)
Minnesota Vikings (2006–2011)
New York Jets (2012–2014)
Buffalo Bills (2015)
University of Alabama (2016-present)

Dunbar can keep his negative recruiting in Tuscaloosa. Once he is reinstated I would love to see Bo Davis brought in

HA! I played against him twice while he was at Western Illinois. Most dominant guy on the whole field. His brother was their running back.

Coaching experience counts for sure but I'd argue about the school size as a qualifier.

I wasnt partially correct. He had been a nfl dline coach for 1 prior to coming to lsu. My original point still stands. Id be surprised to see a nfl dline coach take a step back into cfb.

Ok, so you were completely wrong then a-hole! You said you would be surprised to see an NFL DL coach take a step back. I gave you an example, then you say he only came back after a year in the NFL not 7. So then I show you Dunbar went back to the NFL for 10 yrs then came back again to college. This is just one example of NFL coaches going back to the college ranks. You just like to argue with everyone on this board so much, even when you can make a point people think you're an arse! Must suck to be you

Argue? I gave an opinion that id be surprised if a nfl dline coach would go backwards. At no time did i say it doesnt happen.
