The guy pitching on Friday will not effect how much run support he gets.

Who said it does?

4 runs would have been plenty for Coleman tonight.

Just throw Austin Ross on Friday. That way we will have Saturday and Sunday locked down. 'sarcasm'

Boat, I think you posted the same thing in every response. I think we get your point, but good thing your not the coach. The reason Coleman doesn't start on Friday nights is bc PM wants to use him much like Bradford was used the past couple of years. And, like everyone has said pitching is not our problem right now anyways.

So throwing Coleman on Friday would help us swing the bat better??? Im not sure I agree.
The problem hasn't been pitching

LSUBASEBALL06 is right. What does pitching Coleman on Friday have to do with our hitting on Friday? Our hitting has been subpar for a long time now. It hasn't mattered who they've thrown at us.

Didn't that same Ole Missus pitcher shut us down last year as well?

Pomeranz last year threw 7 innings gave up 4 hits and 1 run and we lost that game 7-1.

Coleman is better than Ranaudo.

That's very debateable.

Coleman is great. Ranaudo's stuff is better. I'd say the difference overall between the two if very minimal.

You are overreacting to one performance last night that basically upped Ranaudo's ERA by a whole run. And, he really didn't pitch poorly. He was cruising until the 6th and was literally one pitch away from getting out of it.

Plus, you are ignoring the value in flexibility with Coleman.

The bottom line is, I believe throwing Coleman on Friday night would pretty much have no effect on the Friday night outcomes from a positive point of view. From a negative point of view, it would force us to have to go to Ott (and use him up a bit as well) on that Friday night game in relief, should Coleman run out of gas.

I have supreme confidence in Ranaudo. I think he gives us an advantage every time he takes the mound. The only negative I see is that he seems to hit the wall somewhere around the 7th. (90-100 pitches).

From another Dizz........what did you think about the pitch selection? Were there too many fast balls with 2 strikes? Think Ole Miss knew when the fast ball was coming.

:kige:

Also, I hope that AR isn't losing confidence in himself because he isn't getting the run support. CPM stated last night on the post game show that it puts a lot of pressure on AR when the team isn't scoring runs because the slighest little mistake can cost the game. That can be a heavy weight on someones shoulders for sure.

rinaudo's had what the last three fridays ? a no decision and two loses ? he struck out the first 10 batters he faced vs. kentucky two weeks ago .. just blew them the frick away and then just hit a wall in the fifth inning and coleman came in, shut UK down and we win ... it just seems like rinaudo is an all american in the first four innings and hits a wall in the fifth and sixth ...

totally agree .. coleman's the best we have .. dude's a battler ..

Was this response directed to me? I only stated that I had confidence in Ranaudo, I didn't even mention Coleman. I know Coleman is the best we have. I was agreeing with moneyg's comment about having confidence in Ranaudo and that he does give us an advantage when he takes the mound. He just doesn't have the stamina, like a lot of men.

AR has to develop into one of our go to guys. I say let him get ripped until he learns how to make the adjustment. If he wants to pitch in the majors then he knows hoe much he has to up his game.

Renaudo got into trouble tonight due to walks it had nothing to do with pitch selection. The two walks and the 0-2 pitch that was called low and very outside but thrown at the letters over the plate is what was the problem.

it was just a general response to the people that think they know what is best for louis coleman, when he is clearly our best pitcher and being misused

the sunday starter should be on fridays, actually. Because the reason we lose fridays is that our bats can't hit the Friday pitching ala the entire Smoke era. Might as well save Renaudo and Coleman for two sure wins on Sat and Sun and wing it on Friday.

People who oversimplify things, and speak in absolutes in an attempt to make their point generally lack intelligence IMO.

That's because I'm right and all you frickers still don't get it. So maybe reading the same thing a few times will finally make y'all get it. Coleman is our best guy and should be starting on Friday.

Why doesn't Coleman every have those kind of outings if he's not better?
