Short passing routes..

Haven't had time to watch the games over but have seen a few comments about our receivers routes being mostly upfield. Have we really had a lack of short routes? Would more short routes improve our passing game?

We have had a lack of anything not run into a stacked line.
I really don't know how people have been watching a Les Miles offense all these years and defend him as a great coach. The only pass I have seen is the ones he gets year after year.

From sit-stats.
Out of 102 completions, 53 <15yds, 34 >15yds, 19 >25yds.
LSU has thrown short, but IMO staff was wary of consistency, especially when #7 had a good chance of picking up your normal 3rd and long.
Pretty sure there were some crosses (25yd compl to Smith?) and slants last couple games and all the kneejerk absolutes like "everythng is 45+ and sideline" posted lately are just wrong.

I saw Harris miss on several short to intermediate throws to start the game and be inaccurate on several more completions. But I guess that's the coaching staff's fault too.

Harris has to throw a 5 yard pass 100 mph.

I seen't it. He's not as accurate on the short/intermediate ones as he has been on the long ones. But the short passes are the ones that would have been needed to beat bama and arky. The missed screen passes are painful.
