Only person I remember close to him with such dominant shot blocking was Ewing.

Yea, that was very well put together. I really hope Jones can become like daddy dale and bring LSU bball back

I enjoyed it, was well done

Yeah, regardless of the teams' end results, 1990-92 had to be the best time to be an LSU basketball fan. Some epic games at PMAC.

Exactly. I had forgotten how spectacular he was when he blocked shots. It wasn't just that he blocked it, but he rejected it as far as he could slap it. Every single time.
And he stood over guys after he dunked on them or blocked their shots. He would be a walking technical today, unfortunately.

Uh, no, I think he would have learned after the first one called

I grew up at LSU during this time, and just before, in the heyday of LSU basketball. It was incredible. I remember skipping class and sitting on the ramps at the PMAC to get into the first row of the student section.
And I'll say this, I had grown tired of Dale Brown losing big games in the tournament, and questioned his coaching ability. But through circumstances, got to know a bit about him much later. He is as genuine IRL as shown on that show. What people don't know is that he keeps in touch with everyone that played for him, religiously, even the scrubs. And he has done some amazing things behind the scenes to help players and families, and never tries to do it in the public eye to get credit.

That wasn't a knock on shaq, it's a knock on how the game is called today. You are smart though

Thought about Olajuwon but think he was just below. Dikembe in the pros

Yep, but Dale scheduled the best. Just in this special we saw them face UNLV, Arizona and Duke two times each and Loyola Marymount once. And that was during just about all of those teams' greatest runs ever. LSU beat 3 out of the 4 including possibly the scariest team ever in UNLV the year they beat Duke by 30 in the National Championship.

Great show...really brought back a lot of memories...
I miss old college basketball when they would routinely score in the 80's...such ugly basketball today.

1986-1992 was a GLORIOUS time to be an LSU basketball fan. I was a kid, but those teams were full of heroes.
I was too young to remember the 1979-81 teams.
Here are the names that captured the imagination of the state:
Don Redden
John Williams
Derrick Taylor
Anthony Wison
Nikita Wilson
Ricky Blanton
Darryl Joe
Chris Jackson
Vernel Singleton
Wayne Sims
Maurice Williamson
Harold Boudreaux
Stanley Roberts
Shaquille O'Neal
It was supposed to continue with Randy Livingston and Geert Hamminck and Ronnie Henderson, but injuries kept it from taking off again. Then, collapse.
But, from 1986-1992, it was amazing.
EDIT: Thanks to Chopique19 for correcting my foggy memory on Anthony and Nikita Wilson. I said Johnson for both. Brain fart.

Hakeem averaged 3 bpg and won 2 DPOY awards in the pros. Not below. But the two were very comparable, great players. Two of my favorites as an LSU, Houston guy.
