This.

The names Brent Scott, Nick Robinson, and Donnie Guerinoni don't exactly pop the "wow meter" when it comes to college assistants. If Johnson ultimately doesn't survive, I think his loyalty to his very average assistant coaches will be a factor in his undoing.

They need someone with attitude. Bruce Pearl resurrected, erected UT. The town bought in, the school bought in.
Now they bring in some no name black coach alas LSU, down the shitter

TJ should be fired if we have another losing season.

You left out: coach broke NCAA rules, lied to NCAA, got fired and banned from coaching, put school on probation, players left, team sucks.

You posted this exact sentence in multiple threads as if it is some kind of cutting edge view, when it actually is the consensus. I think virtually everyone agrees with this. However, the season is far from over and lots of things can happen.

The frustrating thing about LSU hoops now is the potential it has. It has a nice little tradition of final fours and great players and there's so much talent within 400 miles of Baton Rouge. Heck within 250 miles you can win a national championship.

But I can't blame a top recruit from LA for going to Duke, UNC, Michigan State, and the like over LSU now.

I really think LSU should hire someone who's an assistant at one of the top programs (except Duke--who's made it big from Duke) and let him bring that with him and give the guy 4-5 years to try to build something.

LSU's current problems have nothing to do with losing top state players to major out-of-state programs.

Spoken like someone who never attended a game in the Deaf Dome when it was rockin. For several years hoops WAS what carried the attention of LSU fans.

I've lived through both 'eras' of the basketball team if you consider the Chris Jackson and Shaq days as Deaf Dome days too, and I still agree w/ Hippo. He didn't have to be there to witness what we call the Deaf Dom days b/c Stromile and Jabari rocked the PMAC hard, and so did Bass, Tyrus, and Baby. It's always going to be up and down w/ basketball. Be patient and it'll come back and when it does, enjoy it b/c it goes away for a while when it goes.

I have to disagree with you here. People will show up when there's a decent product on the floor.

I totally agree with this. The PMAC is full when we are winning, and especially if we have a guy or two with some charisma.
