She probably saved LSU Athletics in the neighborhood of $15 million. She should get a hefty bonus for her diligent work.

Agreed, what a classy lady and how she made LSU escape perhaps much worse. Handled perfectly.

Maiden name was Miriam Farr. Played basketball for LSU in the late 80's/early 90's.

Of course she used to play a sport for LSU. That's about the only pre-requisite for being employed in the LSU Athletic Dept.

Segar spent weeks pressing for answers and made the decision to bar Hicks from traveling to LSU's 2009 season-opening game at Washington because she was unsatisfied with the information she had received.

So you're saying Demetrius Byrd could work in the athletic dept?

I'm sure her intelligence, and the fact that she got a masters degree in some sort of sports management at that sports academy in Mobile, Al didn't help at all.

It's awesome when someone truly cares about the job they do. She's in a semi low profile position but deserves high profile praise

Not only does she care about her job but she knows her job and does it.On the other hand, Sam Nader has no excuse since he has been at LSU for ever and is older than dirt.Charles Baglio and Sherman Morris either knowingly violated rules or didn't know the rules, thus, are incompetent and should be replaced. You can't stop people from violating rules or not doing their job but you can break them from the habit at LSU by dismissing them from employment with the University.

Wow, I cannot sit by and watch this any longer, taking shots at Sam Nader...Ok let's have some perspective, Saint Segar and Sam are BOTH LONG TIME LSU employess and Miriam (not sam) was in charge of overssing Pokey and actaully was one of the people who traveled with the team, LSU football has had one major violation in 25 years and Sam has been there 100% of that time and Sam is NOT in any way shape of form a compliance officer. You all, imo, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy overrating Saint Miriam here, she has blood on her hands just as much (or little) as any other compliance person at LSU and by the way was VERY much a part of things in the John Brady days. I undertsnad what the NCAA said and am VERY gald we got less of a penalty do in part to her, but bringing Sam into this is not needed and Miriam has been a part of LSU compliance, head of life skills etc and inovolved in all good and bad for many years....if you hate sam, you hate lsu football

Other major violations centered on director of football operations SAM NADER.I personnally like Sam but that doesn't excuse his part in this incident any more than Baglio or Morris,in fact, of all people Sam should definitely know better and the rules. No excuses.Next thing I know someone will claim victim status or it was George Bush's fault.

I admit, I did not see that part (direcotr of football ops, was that the phone call part for student workers?) I know Sam (and am not him lol) and know he is given heart and soul for LSU for over 30 years, as for George Bush part, I think we are on same page, I am not a blamer, I do know saint Miriam a bit and admit, not a fan at all, but I do give her props on this
