What’s his recruiting story? One of the best offensive linemen in the country from New Orleans now at Georgia. It sounds like LSU never showed much interest.

He wanted to leave the state since he was a freshman in high school. Along with the fact that LSU’s Oline Coach didn’t recruit and you have the ending to this story.

Pretty sure he made it known early that he wanted to leave the state. Handled everything professionally and didn’t play games.

He came out early on that he wanted to spend time outside of Louisiana and wanted to go to a school outside of the state. It was nice he didn’t waste anyone’s time at LSU

The OL guy that went to Notre Dame when Les Miles was here, many people hated that, but IIRC, the kid wanted to go to Notre Dame even before recruitment and loved coach Kelly during recruitment. They switched him to DL and 4 years later, he became a first round draft pick.

This was pre-NIL, Kirby was smarter than Pruitt. In other words, he just wanted to leave Louisiana and fell in love with Georgia. Like Saban used to do with kids who fell in love with Tuscaloosa.

LSU very much had an interest in him and recruited Van Pran till the very end. He just wanted to go out of state, which was widely known. It happens sometimes. Sucked to lose him, but what I and several other fans appreciated about him, he never yanked LSU's chain till the end, misleading us along the way. We don't like losing top in-state prospects, but much respect for him and his family on how they handled the recruitment process.
