I can't believe nothing was said during the game last night. If Ohio State isn't on probation, they play Notre Dame and it is probably the "game of the century" that ND wins. Then the narrative is that it is a down year for the SEC.

I hate that Alabama won but it might help LSU get into the top 4 some year when you have a few no loss teams, a few 1-loss teams, and a few 2-loss teams trying to get into a national semi-final. They have to take 1 or 2 SEC teams until other conferences start beating us.

After the dominance of the SEC during the BCS era, I now believe the SEC would have dominated the 70s/80s/90s during the mythical national championship era. We just beat each other up and didn't get to play for a national championship because of the Rose or Orange Bowl.

Just my 2 cents.

But they are on probation, and they didn't play, so who gives a shite? If Bama would have gotten flattened, this would be a legitimate conversation. Bama proved they should have been there, just like last year.

But the conversation was right on on two accounts.
1. OSU and ND would have been undefeated. Both are nationally recognized programs. No way the BCS doesn't put them in the game.
2. The country is pretty tired of SEC dominance of the BCS, especially after having 2 teams in ths championship game last year. No way the let an SEC team in this if there is anyway to shut them out.

They ran the mock BCS if Ohio State would've been eligible and the win over UGA would've had Bama at #2 and Ohio State at #3(according to Brad Edwards of ESPN).

That's not the point of the thread.

Re-read the title of the thread.

I'd rather Bama have been on the outside looking in.

what hes saying is they would have been in over bama if they werent on probation. Bama clearly deserved to be there, but they wouldnt have if osu wasnt on probation. Pretty much that this whole system is bullshite cus they will never get it rt.

Brad Edwards said that Bama would have still played ND after the SECCG even with OSU going undefeated.

Not disputing the fact that they were the best team last year but they did not deserve to be there.

Playoff needs to happen. the big 10 is a joke and osu is about to cake walk to the bcs championship game every year.

Ohio State was basically playing a 12 game exhibition, they had hardly any pressure. Even if they suceeded going 12-0, they would have still played in the big 10 Championship game.. it's a good thought but not really a gimme.

OSU would have still had to play a conference championship game.

That would have been a highly watched game...until people realized how little talent was on the field.

This I agree with this poster we were always better and that's what concerns me about the new system! 16 men in a dark room no computers ! What if they say its a down year for the SEC !!! Remember the comments they were making about ND? How good they were and how the SEC could not handle their D!

Every year the AP has a non SEC team #1 to start the season ha what a joke!
