SEC West tie breaker question

I've seen a lot of people say that Auburn needs to lose 2 games in order for LSU to make it to Atlanta. but, if we win out and Auburn's only loss is to a one loss Bama team, that would leave LSU, Auburn, and Bama all with one SEC loss (each to an SEC west opponent). if I remember correctly, the tie beaker comes down to each team's BCS standing. am I correct in this rule? if so, is it possible that LSU could make it to the SECCG with auburn only having one loss?

Alabama would have 2 losses (USC and us)

There will be a loser this weekend

thats the last resort, all other tiebreakers have to fail for BCS ranking to come into play

Auburn goes because they have the direct win over LSU.

If LSU and Auburn each have one loss...
say Aubie loses to Bama....
11-1
LSU LOST to Aubie....11-1...
Aubie wins cuz they beat LSU
say Aubie loses to Bama....
11-1
LSU LOST to Aubie....11-1...
Aubie wins cuz they beat LSU

shite...that's right. brain fart. well it is conceivable, even if it is a remote chance, that all 3 of us would have 2 losses. that would mean Auburn loses to UGA and in the iron bowl and Bama loses to us (with a previous loss to USCe). since both AU and UA would have one SEC east loss, how would that affect the tie beaker scenario?

In this scenario (let's say LSU wins this weekend, then loses to Arky; Bama beats Auburn, UGA also beats Auburn), I'm pretty sure LSU would be the first team eliminated from the 3 team tie because they would have 2 west losses, while Auburn and Bama would only have 1. Then the tiebreaker starts over with Bama going over Auburn because of the head to head win.

You are correct. There's no scenario that gets us the West at this point short of:
1) Auburn losing 2
2) Us winning out
However, if that happens, the sky's the limit!

LSU needs to avoid tiebreakers they are not good for LSU. LSU needs to win out and Auburn lose two games. Then LSU West Champ.

If we want to be like Ole Miss, we control our own destiny in the race to fly the "co-divisional champion" banner.

Well, even though the Chavis no pressure-no blitz-soft zone defense couldn't slow down Newton, we did manage to hold them to only 24 points. However, the Milescrowzalesjefferstein
Monster offense was it's sure dependable self. (Shite, even Ole Miss put up 31 on Auburn).....

Great...moral victories.

Yes, but only if higher priority tiebreakers don't decide it first. If LSU were to beat 'Bama for its only loss (i.e., if 'Bama had beaten SC), and 'Bama beat Auburn and Auburn beat LSU, so all 3 had one loss and head-to-head didn't resolve it in that case, it would go to BCS standings. However, as others have pointed out, this scenario can't happen, because 'Bama already has 1 loss and would have 2 losses in order for LSU to remain at 1 loss, in which case it would just be LSU and Auburn, and head-to-head would determine it.

Does your off color remark make you feel like a big man? I hope you are able to reply to your next poster with a little more class.

What I don't understand is that the SEC website says this regarding a two team tie:
A. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams;
B. Records of the tied teams within the division;
C. Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record, and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place);
D. Overall record against non-divisional teams;
E. Combined record against all common non-divisional teams;
F. Record against the common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional or non-divisional) and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game.
But, when would you have to EVER go beyond head to head?
