I keep seeing people suggesting HVL going to South Carolina. Isn’t it against SEC rules for people to transfer within conference or is that just football?

Does she think she will crack that lineup
She ain’t going to South Carolina
Wouldn’t be shocked if she ends up back at Louisville

According to the Rant she sucks so that would make her transfer destination meaningless.

Aaron Anderson transfered from Alabama to LSU last year for football. I think you can transfer wherever you want.

Don’t know where she will transfer, but she better look like transferring to a place where she can get on the court. She and her trainer are delusional if they think she has any shot at the WNBA

Why would she go to South Carolina and sit in the bench?

The fact that you got 3 upvotes on this is astonishing. I know at a certain time of the year you can transfer within the conference but there was a deadline to enter the portal before you could transfer within the conference. It’s why we have no shot at getting Jacoby Matthews from A&M

And Eli Ricks went from LSU to Bama

Trevor Etienne went from Florida to UGA

Denver Harris went from A&M to LSU

Etc. There's no such rule in football.

Yes there is

All your examples were midterm transfers

Anything outside of midterm transfers, besides grad transfer, and you are ineligible the upcoming football season.

OP said transfers within the conference were prohibited. They're not. There's a deadline, but it's not prohibited.

Hvl will not go to usc. They only lose 1 player off their team. USC is loaded.

To transfer within the SEC and be eligible immediately, fall sport athletes must “declare his or her intent to transfer” by Feb. 1. For winter sports, the deadline is May 1. For spring sports, it’s July 1.

All of the guys you mentioned declared before 2/1

So in other words, they were allowed to transfer within the conference right?

In football, you can transfer in conference if it’s done in the first transfer window. If u transfer after spring, u can’t transfer in conference or u will have to sit out a year if u do.

As long as the athlete enters the portal before the deadline.

I see what you’re saying. Football for example — it’s not prohibited before 2/1 but it’s prohibited now.

South Carolina is not losing anybody but if that is where she chooses to go to then best of luck to her. She will probably be in the rotation and get to shoot a lot of shots when she gets put into the lineup and be in the running for a championship but if she wants to be the volume shooter she was then that is not the right team to join forces with.
