SEC still the best conference?

I don't it's been the best the last couple of years. This year has to be B1G. The SEC has been a 1 team conference for couple years now.

Sec West is still pretty solid imo. Maybe not the best but i would pit them against anyone. But yea the big ten has been good this year.

Top heavy, probably so.

Do you really think these big 10 teams would hold up day in day out agaisnt the top half of SEC? frick no. Skinny assed RBs running up the middle on Bama, UF? Or even LSU, Ole Miss and Arky?

Scared or not, LJ Scott would not be running up the middle on most SEC teams.

The SEC is not good this year aside from Bama. Consider:
SC was so bad it's coach quit.
Ark lost to Toledo and Texas Tech and is unranked.
LSU we all know about.
Ole Miss has flashes but also lost to Memphis.
Florida has no QB and can't score.
Georgia's coach was fired due to chronic mediocrity.
Tenn lost a bunch of games and is unranked.
State is unranked. Good QB and not much else.
Aggie has no defense.
Auburn lost a bunch of games and is unranked. No defense.
Ky and Vandy are no good.
Just a dismal year for the SEC. This Bama team might not even be as great as we all think.

SEC has the most depth. I don't think the top is as good as some of the other conferences, but the middle and bottom can beat anybody.
The ACC has no depth. They have Florida State, Clemson, and North Carolina. That's it.
The Big 10 has slightly more depth. Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Iowa at the top with Michigan, Northwestern, and Penn State in the middle. Their bottom is straight putrid with Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, ect,
The Pac 12 is weak at the top, really only having Stanford, but the middle is solid with UCLA, USC, Oregon, & Utah. Their bottom is probably the best of any conference.
The Big 12 is weird. I don't even know how to explain them or have any idea how their teams would match up to any other conference.

the SEC west is the toughest division and has more quality teams than the other conferences.

That's a good assessment. I think college football as a whole is down. Few good QBs. Same reason the Heisman race is such a dud.
