SEC Baseball brackets

why are the brackets not set up to where the highest seed doesn't play the lowest seed that wins in the first round?

Do I have that wtong?

It is set up that way assuming all of the better seeds win the play in games.

You can still set it up where no matter who wins, the number 1 team is always playing the lowest ranked team that advances.
