i know we go out of our way to say this guy was a TPOS and all that...but at the end of the day, we recruited them in the first place.

Then we hear: Chief didn't recruit. Yet when a defensive player leaves, we are getting rid of Chiefs trash.

So...

Chief and the defensive staff were lazy recruiters. To make up for it, we were accepting guys that were marginal characters but physically talented. Now that O and Steele are running the show, missing workouts and being weedheads isn't tolerated. Some are shaping up, and some are shipping out.

The only thing that bothers me is that some of these guys weren't shown the door sooner. apparently, some of them never showed up for spring practice. Why weren't the coaches on them after the first missed practice? I don't mean that as a major point of contention, but there was no way I let players miss practices when I was coaching and neither did my coaches when I was playing.

Very poor response, and not accurate or true at all. is Corey Raymond a lazy recruiter just wondering?

Every elite program expects/needs some roster attrition every year. When it's a non-contributor or a malcontent it's considered "good" attrition.

In the case of Austin, he wasn't factoring into the OL depth chart and he finished school. Can only be seen as a positive.

IMO if you never suited up for the Tigers, and only caused problems as well as bring bad publicity for the football team, university, and State. I do not think they were ever Tigers.

Not positive, but I think 104.5 in Baton Rouge reported that Bain was basically told to leave even after the legal issues were cleared up.

1. Chavis didn't recruit. Look at our linebacker situation the last few years

2. A lot of these guys leaving are guys we offered late in the game. I think most of them were either not fully scouted or we took a risk and more of them haven't been paying off than we would have expected.

If schools valued character as much or more than athletic ability, there's a good chance we wouldn't constantly see these problems.
Pressure to win is that high I suppose.

Just a hunch, but I think the staff is killing two birds with one stone...

The players that left were recruiting misses that either would have had trouble maintaining eligibility or would not have contributed.

Orgeron is recruiting at an amazing clip and these players leaving will allow us to sign more players in the 2016 class. Coach O has been clear he will continue to recruit sign DTs until Miles tells him to stop. Since DT is such a hit and miss position (like QB), I think the staff is hedging their bets that we are going to sign a bumper crop of DTs...or at least can sign.

This attrition opens that up a little.

A lot of football players smoke weed. Not just at LSU. Just like regular college students.

Miles was saying some of those guys didn't go to spring practice because they were told they would not be a part of the team in the fall. Not because practice is voluntary and Les can't do anything to make them show up.

Some of the ideas the rant comes up with truly baffle me.

Not legal nor allowed within the LSU football program, so I fail to see the relevance of your post

The relevance is that one would have to be naive to think LSU does not recruit players anymore that smoke weed. That is not why LSU is losing players either. Look at the offseason, no substance abuse violations. Most were violence or theft.

There's a difference between being a football player who smokes weed and a weedhead who is on the football team.

All about priorities. Tons of guys on the '07 and '11 teams smoked too (obviously), but they knew how to handle their shite.

Did I read someplace during the last week that LSU was +2 players over the limit? +1 now that Jonah has left, but is this true?
