I don't think he goes anywhere.

He's one of the few coaches on staff who could outlive Miles at LSU.

I would think USC burned their bridges with Coach O.

He may be giving them a courtesy and is just hearing them out. After they screwed him over and brought in Sarkisian, I doubt he's going anywhere, especially there.

If Coach O stays at LSU long enough, he could be interim coach.

Either way, he will probably get a pay raise.

I am hoping Coach O doesn't leave but I'd think it's more than just a courtesy. Remember that Orgeron and Helton coached together and I'd guess they have a good relationship. So of Course Coach O is going to speak with Coach Helton. I'd say its more about that relationship than any bad blood with USC/Pat Haden.

He's playing it like a raise. Just like Miles, Saban, Jimbo, etc

He's definitely playing it for a pay raise and will probably get a lot of attention from other teams as well.

Any pay raise would be deserved.

I seriously doubt that any LSU coach on this staff has a bit of leverage for raises this year. First thing is you need an outstanding season (we didn't) then you need to be wanted by your administrators (they wanted to fire them recently). I'd believe that Coach O is looking out for his future because he knows another poor season they're all out of a job. As far as burned bridges, hell there talking with him, so the bridge isn't completely burned.

Love coach O, but why do people think this is a good idea?

His future in not tied to anyone. If this actually ended up being Miles last season which I doubt that seriously, O would have a new job in 15 minutes in 2017 wherever he wanted it.

I would hate to see him go but if he wants to leave don't let the door hit you on the way out!
