And if you win game 1 let Tennessee blow their wad with pitching in game 2. Then you have a fresh ready to roll Marceaux in the rubber game. If you lose game 1 then you have Marceaux ready for game 2 and its all hands on deck. Either way I want him with the ball in his hands when our season is on the line. Just makes sense.

Supposedly, their best pitcher is scheduled for game 2

Someone should sew in some infinity stones into Marceaux's glove.

No reason to try to be cute. Landon will be ready. We just have to figure out Chad Dallas.

You need to win 2 no matter what.

I kind of like taking the pressure off and throwing Labas game 1. Maybe that’ll loosen up the bats to score some runs in the opener.

With the way they handle pitchers I would be surprised if they use Marceaux in G2, but they absolutely should maximize his rest

Especially after that weird fatigue game he had a few weeks ago

Marceaux should go game 2 at the earliest. Maybe even game 3 if you win game 1. Hilliard, Labas, Hellmers, Coleman… you have options.

will 1 day make a difference? How much different or more taxing on his arm was what he threw mon night than his typical bull pen work?

I think you go marceaux game 2. It’s the most important game of the year. You are either playing to sweep and head to Omaha or your playing for your life.
The added bonus is an additional day of rest

That certainly makes sense, but on the flip side an argument could be made that if we lose Game1 on the road, we’re likely done. If the series was at home, I’d feel better about our chances to take game2 and 3 after a Game1 loss. On the road, I think it’s crucial that we win Game1.

Who are Tennessee's best pitchers? Two of their main starters have ERAs over 4.

Two RH starters and 1 LH.

Dallas, Tidwell, Heflin. Dallas and Tidwell are light years better than Heflin. Dallas has more experience and is certainly not a scrub, but Tidwell is electric. Heflin is meh.
