I was raised in B.R....My father was a prof at LSU in the late 50's and the 60's until we moved to Shreveport when LSU-S opened. I grew up in the shadows of Tiger Stadium and the old "Cow Barn" I sold Cokes at the stadium on Saturday night...played flag football on the parade grounds. Graduated H.S. and enlisted in the Corps... Went to Nam..came back home and got my degree. Did 5 years with the LSP,troup G. Joined the ATF and spent the rest of my adult life in and outside of the USA.
That being said....on Saturday nights, during ball season, my thoughts and memories always returned to Baton Rouge... it didn't matter whether I was in the A Shau Valley S.V.N., north La. or the middle east somewhere...it was always Tigers..Tigers..Tigers, and Saturday night in Baton Rouge!

I guess what I'm saying is...feel blessed and privileged to be "True Tiger" fan and experience what we have now. Take it from me....you, like myself, will always look back at those memories the rest of your life.

I agree completely...I travel a good bit for work now and if you told me that I could go anywhere I wanted to go, that would be it.

I get that. Riding on campus in the Fall, I always had to roll my windows down, just to smell the feeling. Nothing like it. My first LSU football game was either 63 or 62. I remember playing football in my front yard and shouting, "Jerry Snowball" for a touchdown. I later found out his name was Stovall. From age 7 or 8, I have been to at least one game at the Stadium. Now I am taking each one of five grandchildren to one home game a year. I have two more that are only 4, so in about 3 years, it will be all of them. My Dad used to say, "08, 58 and next year." Today it's "08. 58, 03, 07 and should have been 11!" Maybe the best I have felt was the win in 03 against Oklahoma. My three sons were with me at that game and my youngest was next to me. My thoughts turned to my father and how blessed I was that he made sure I was able to attend games. Finished at LSU then LSU law, so I got to be there as a student for seven years. And, thank you for serving our country.

I agree with those that have traveled. Been fortunate see a lot of cool places in this world but there is nowhere I would rather be than in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night.

My dad was Air Force and we did 2 stints on England AFB in Alek. I've lived in Ga since 83, but was always a tiger fan. I'll never forget my first game. I feel blessed anytime I can make it down to Death Valley for a game. Once inside, I don't need piped in music, dependable wifi or even alcohol sales. (I know how to take care of that). I just feel fortunate anytime I'm there. I try to expose anyone I can to the magic of TS.

Thanks for your service

Nothing like walking through the tunnel and seeing the field before you go down to your seats. Gives me goosebumps

In Gulf Shores, some kids that were probably around 20-21 wrote "LSU" in the sand right in front of my condo:

So I went down to the beach with my Bluetooth speaker I had and they were out there taking pictures and whatnot. So I walked up blasting the LSU Pregame. And they just looked at me like I was an idiot and they said "What's that..?"
And I paused it and said "The LSU Pregame"
And they said "Oh...? Okay I thought it sounded familiar"

So I just walked away in disgust.

Thank you sir for your service in all capacities to our country. I saw my first game in Tiger stadium in 1955 (9 yrs) and many more after that. Lived 9 yrs in Tyler, TX and short time in MS with remainder in Baton Rouge.

I feel the same. Only been back once for the 2011 AR game with Razorback friends met where we are now. It was awesome to feel that special tingling of might that is Tiger Stadium!!
