Sankey is gonna lose his job over this, and he should. LSU and Tennessee should rightly be screaming bloody murder about this, and any other program that is asked to change things around to accommodate Florida should also make a big public issue about it.
The LEAST offensive fix would be to push back the SEC Championship, and doing that would cause the rest of the NCAA and ESPN to go nuts... and they should. Because all of this is stupid.
The second option in order of offensiveness would be to declare a forfeit, which would anger only Florida. This would provoke all sorts of outcry and probably some legal actions and protests, since it wasn't done in a timely manner, but it's the fairest to the rest of the SEC. It would also be an admission of incompetency by the SEC office, and thus won't happen either.
Forcing LSU to renege the deal with South Alabama is next, but they should be kicking and screaming to refuse that. Objectly, they have a great case- they offered multiple options, all of which Florida refused. So be it, skip the game, move on.
Approaching Georgia and/or Arkansas would be comical. and sure to enrage either program as much as it has LSU. I hope they try it, and LSU ramps up their public responses at the same time, so that the world is clear on the fact that it was Florida and the SEC that brought this on.
