He won't be the next head coach at Bama

He even said so. He and Terry just love Miami and they're really involved in the community.

I dunno, we've always recruited Texas. Even when UT was great. I'd rather Saban hypothetically take 1-2 from La a year and maybe 2-3 from Texas that we'd normally get and have those players play for Texas than face them every year at Alabama.

We might still have to face him every year with higher stakes.

We won't play them every year. Sure, there is an outside shot we could play them once in a bowl or a title game, but they aren't in our division and we won't play them every single year without interruption.

EVERY year? No. But if Saban goes to Texas, it's going to create a power vacuum. Texas will DOMINATE that Conference and LSU will be the premiere power in the SEC.

Texas-LSU championships, I think, would be quite common.

If anything, the fact that LSU wouldn't have to play against Saban yearly as a conference foe, would be a plus. The recruiting scenario would stay the same, if a kid wants to play for Saban, it doesn't matter if he's in Austin or Tuscaloosa.

That's not really how it works, man. Too many variables. Sure, I could see it maybe happening once, but to think that over the span of 10 or so years that we would play for the title more than twice is pretty unrealistic. How many times have the same exact teams played for the title or been 1-2 to end the year over the span of 8-10 years in recent memory?

He is still gonna grab top talent from us, but the guys will not be in the same division as us and will be in a different conference so it will not sting as much.

But would this essentially derail our pipeline in Texas? With the revival of A&M and Saban setting up in the Lone Star state, would the Ed Paris's still make the trek across the state line?

Think about this, Saban is Saban, and he'll bring his pipelines with him. He'll have to change strategies in how he build's his on-field team once he's at Texas, which will give us a window of two-three years. Looking ahead at talent in Louisiana and the 2013 and 2014 class hauls, we should win at least one, if not two titles in the next 3 years.

That gives us tons of first rounders, tons of exposure, and tons of talent wanting to play for the best team. By the time he's figured things out, we'll be stealing major recruits from his backyard.

IMO, if we get the haul we are expecting to get this year, doesn't matter what the hell he does.
