Denzel made a good decision for himself. Chavis didn't want that big of a LB

Denzel Devall

Didn't play recruiting games. He made his decision early, never wavered, and didn't waste anyone's time. He was a great fit for Bama's 3-4 as well.

It's post like this that give The Rant a bad name.

This is so dumb
I hate it more than anyone when they leave but the kid was trying to win championships

The fact that he's from bastrop and played for LSU doesn't mean he's going to be set for life, sorry

Then I'm sure you can't fathom why we recruit out of state

I know man choosing a school that won a national championship while he was there must've sucked arse. I mean he could've come to LSU and beat up on jacksonville state instead. Wtf was that guy thinking?

it's not like they can't have a good life in Alabama also. 90% of this board have no idea who this guy is. So, he could've gone to LSU or Bama and his college football career would have little impact on his future, in Louisiana or Alabama. Unless you consider getting a free drink or maybe a free lunch once every year or so as "bettering their chances."

I know of some and I dont even get out much.

The boosters will make sure you get good, cushy employment after. Not just you but often times your family as well, especially if the booster recruited you. Staffs will often assign certain boosters to certain recruits to wine and dine them and look after them if they need anything because the NCAA ties the Universities hands. The boosters have more leeway.

Most big time booster have big time companies that employ many people.

No, but does going to LSU mean he will be an NFL player....hell no. Very few players overall get rich. He got an education from a higher rated school and was on a championship team. To say he made a bad choice is pretty dumb.

Are you against kids from other states coming to LSU?

Devall is one of the main people on P.Mathis right now. Every good thing said about LSU he's there to insert Bama.

On the defensive side LSU has done a much better job of developing players than Bama. Bama has gotten higher ranked player, who are really good the day they hit campus, but don't get allot better for the most part.

This is just one example, but Chavis took his lumps for his handling of Beckwith, but he hadn't sat on the bench till he would actually play his position instead of just run after the ball, he would not be anywhere close to the player his is today.

Lmao Kids don't choose Alabama over LSU for educational ranks, this is ridiculous. They are slightly better but not by much at all. LSU does need to fix this though.

Have you honestly not noticed that LSU football players get treated a bit differently? This extends past there playing days.

It's honestly not that hard to believe. You go into an interview, you mention your days as an LSU football player, and all the sudden there is something instantly relatable about you.

There isn't some defined placement system, but it is really no different than an ordinary guys college choice. If you plan to work in Louisiana, you are better off from a networking standpoint going to LSU, rather than a school like Alabama. Even though they are similar schools on paper, the person hiring you will more likely have gone to LSU.

Not if you're a guy who the interviewers have never heard of. Let's not act like every player who has ever worn an LSU jersey gets preferential treatment. If Devall interviewed in Louisiana right now, most people would not even know his name.
