Denzel Devall was the top rated LB in the state and can't earn a paycheck in the NFL. Undrafted but still on the Alabama payroll. Business decisions.

I hate Saban and Alabama, but this is a pretty weak argument. Plenty of other ones that hold a lot more weight.

he thought it was the best decision for him ... It didn't work out.
Don't blame him, but it's his loss.

It's why I'll never understand why these kids leave La.
Regardless of how highly touted a prospect you are, there is still a better chance than not that college football will be your peak. They better their chances for life that they will be taken care of here in La.

He started off ok but their recruiting at LB is off the charts. Contrast him with Williams who was lucky to even make it to this season but turned into a star. Overall though, Bama is about 30-70 on their LA recruits.

That was a rare one where it was a "push" for the schools on signing day and a win for us and our kid.

Recall that Saban dropped a local Alabama linebacker to grab Devall away from LSU.

That Alabama kid? Kwon Alexander (who, it must be conceded, was a better fit in the system we were running at the time under Chavis than Saban's system, and the opposite was drue of Devall).

Saban takes kids out of LA just so LSU doesn't get em. He processes these kids. Sad

Cool...a discussion in mid-January about some random kid who left Louisiana to go to Alabama and was a failure, with a gratuitous Saban reference.

But no....most LSU fans aren't Bama-sessed

Kid was on NC teams at Bama, wouldn't have that had he been at LSU.

Every time someone says stay in LA you will get taken care of. I wonder do guys who don't really play get "taken care of" after school?

I feel like this is something fans say but doesn't happen in reality.

He's being taken care of in Tuscaloosa. What's the problem?

You are partially correct. We support our own but there is really no process for non-superstars.

And he'll never have a chance at being on super bowl teams and being in another tax bracket from you and me.

While I hate Bama, let's not open up that can of worms. They're churning out NFL backers. Ragland, Mosley, Upshaw, McClain, Hightower and soon to add Foster, Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson. Just saying, saying that Bama doesn't develop linebackers because of Devall is like saying LSU doesn't develop wide receivers because of Tyron Johnson.
