From very close sources Treloar will be Musselmann's new replacement. Was great under Brady

I had the chance in 2006 to sit with him while he broke down game film and created a plan a and b strategy for two games. I was very impressed. He definitely knows how to minimize our weaknesses and expose those of the opponent. I know he coached with Bobby Knight back in the day so he had a good background.

What has he been doing since he left?

From what I read on him he would be an idiot to come here. A lot of NBA teams love this guy and is often called a draft guru

He has been the director of player personnel for the Phoenix Suns

I'd be fine with that hire. It's a guy already familiar with the area, that has a nice resume.

I do know that he sends his kids to the camp every year. Always loved this place and he has a once in a lifetime chance to coach a superstar in Simmons and add another Big Time recruiting presence on the staff

This would be a pretty big pick up. Guy can flat out coach, evaluate, and has great connections.

Treloar would be a great hire. I think it's been very interesting seeing so many NBA coaches and personnel moving back to the college game this season.

I think some people don't realize the amount of money in college basketball. There are a ton of college coaches that make more than NBA coaches.

Treloar probably wouldn't be a long term assistant, but who knows. Maybe he wants his kids to grow up in Baton Rouge. Maybe his wife loves it here. Crazier things have happened.

If David Patrick wasn't Simmons' godfather we wouldn't have gotten him. No Simmons no Blakeney. We need a recruiter. Hasn't really signed much else...

If anything we need an X and O's coach.. Treloar brings both. This is a perfect hire because Johnny just cannot coach whatsoever during a game situation.

Stop posting. Leave the basketball threads for those of us who watch more than 10 games a season.

That's what why my dad adamantly wants Butch Pierre. I tried to explain how good Treloar was as a coach, evaluator, etc... Didn't matter lol

I think his presence itself will definitely attract more recruits along with Johnny and DP's skills it will be a perfect recruiting team
