are we talking about the National Championship game or just any BCS bowl game?

Both-if Au as 2 losses then we are above them +a boise or TCU loss+UO loss is a great scenerio for us to make the NC. For any BCS bowl AU will have at least 1 loss and we are the only other SEC one loss or AU has 2 losses SC goes to sugar and we have 1 so we are above AU for an at large.

We do. I just say I'm pulling for Auburn to lose, not for the gumps to win. There is a difference.

For God's sake, an Auburn loss today and an LSU win tomorrow GUARANTEES LSU a BCS Bowl game. Would the idiots please stop posting otherwise!

Does AU win make our loss against AU LOOK better? Seems like if AU loses to ALA then it makes our win against ALA less impressive???

How does Alabama looking good, make our win against them less impressive?

The way the game is going so far, AU shouldn't represent the SEC!

Good point! It is just confusing. Couldn't beat AU, but ALA beats AU?

Matt, since I respect you, please explain how we're guaranteed a BCS berth in this scenario. If Auburn loses today, they will drop behind us (to perhaps sixth) and we'll move up to fourth. After they beat USCe, they WILL jump us. If no one else loses, we're out of the top 4. There are no guarantees.

Okay if you are a gonna go there and say LSU might not finish top 4, meaning that LSU is not an auto qualifier, sure. But I bet the house LSU goes to a BCS bowl at 11-1, #5 if AU is the SEC champion. It is my "guarantee"

So, in other words, you are saying LSU goes to a BCS bowl at 11-1 REGARDLESS of what happens in today's game.
I agree. It doesn't matter who wins today in that regard.

HOWEVER, if Alabama wins today, and LSU loses to Arkansas tomorrow, it would drop LSU behind Alabama in the SEC bowl pecking order. And that could mean playing in the Chick-Fil-A or Gator rather than Cotton or Outback.

Therefore, it would be most advantageous for us that Auburn wins today.

Provided LSU wins tomorrow, that game we really need Auburn to lose is the SECCG.
