Same reason Jaquash was moved to the 2 hole in softball.

Get your best hitters as many at bats as possible.
Also, Rooker runs well and is a threat on the bases. He has 18 steals this season.

You were still playing T-ball in high school? You must be "special".

Then you have a shite batter getting an out batting second
No you don't. You put another one of their .300 hitters there.

I mean what's to say if he bats 4th he doesn't lead off the second inning every game
I get not hitting in the 4 hole but not 3

If he has a decent guy behind he may be less likely to get intentionally walked is all
Right and they have the Cody Brown guy and Gridley could be in the 5 hole

Best overall hitter generally bats third. Best power hitter who can hit some for average bats cleanup. Power hitter who may not hit for average bats fifth.
In the majors and in college, there are now hints of managers and coaches moving the best overall hitter to second, to maximize plate appearances.
You don't know much about baseball, do you?

You're right bhtigerfan !! Normally, you want the 1st 3 batters to be your best obp hitters. That way your 4th person up should have someone on base, that's why it's called the 'clean-up' spot . Who's our best hitter ? Deichmann !!! Where's he in our line up ? 4th !!!
