Let me say again, though: If you don't like what you're hearing on TV, you can always turn down the sound and tune in to the very excellent LSU radio network. Chris Blair did the game tonight and was his usual outstanding self.

Thanks Chris. I might do that tomorrow.

It’s terrible how LSU’s broadcast team is just the 90s shitty Jumbo sports dusted off and repackaged.

I love the continuity; would have been a shame if ESPN had just wiped out everything Jumbo/CST. Lyn is the GOAT and while Ben is a better partner Ronnie is fine.

Without Jumbo sports, years ago, we would have missed a ton of LSU baseball games.

The problem is most of the whiners can't remember(weren't alive) when we had no baseball and little football or basketball on TV. WWL Radio was the only connection and that was only at night.
These are great times for sports fans. And we are winning in most sports.

For the most part I mute all LSU sports TV broadtcasts. For commotary I listen to LSU radio and on the diamond I watch PBP with Cheerwine on the net.(I do enjoy Ben Mac when he is part of the TV broadcast team)
I started this practice way back when the CBS football commentators were G.Danielson and Lunquist (pumpkin head)...they were so bias and insufferable!

I never get tired of Lyn Rollins. Has been a mainstay for 50 years. I like the local color. Some may think it Hokey and maybe it is but I do not find it offensive. I think he is very baseball savvy and contributes lot of little know factoids to the conversation. I even like his Lyn'isms. I agree Ben and Lyn make a dynamic duo. I got nothing against Ronnie Rantz either. So thank you Cajunomics for the view.

He’s way, way too proud of himself. Rantz and humble do not intersect.

This is true, but he comes across with it more endearing that say, Matt Moscona's hubris.

Btw, the LSU - Ole Miss baseball series last year with the broadcast team that had Big Ben and Dave Delucci in the booth was all-time greatness. I laughed my head off at their stories and banter. ESPN needs to bottle that.

You should watch some of the other teams feeds some day. They're pretty awful.

Rantz is really hard to listen to. I thought that was the universal opinion by now but apparently people still like hearing him talking about himself and the 90’s and durrr here is a Skip impression

That didn’t bother me as much as him completely butchering the review of Kling stealing second.

Rantz shilling for Bianco to get the job back in ’21 as if he was the only candidate, then going on the radio and telling the world the Bianco hire was a done deal and would be announced any minute was a bad look.

You guys are gonna hate on Ronnie Rantz, but you love Doug Moreau doing football?!

No they hate him too.

Funny I can tune out the announcers on any broadcast and just focus on the game. I definitely prefer Chis Blair or Ben McDonald because they are exceptional but I don’t get bent out of shape about other broadcasters

I think Rantz does a fine job. The problem is he comes across as an ego inflated name dropping look at me douche in real life. That affects the perception of his color job plus he is compared to Ben.

That's the problem with perceived " institutions ", especially LSU institutions. When they're bad , they're really bad. Ben and Lynn are institutions, Rantz is a legend in his own mind.

Listened to Blair doing a MBB game a few days ago. Arkansas? He was absolutely top shelf even though the game itself was abysmal. Co-worker who was hitching a ride in my work truck even commented on how good his call is.
