on paper yes, in reality no. He wasn't able to get on the field for significant playing time yet with the LB depth in the last few years. What would change this year?

huge loss...
after all, he was so good at the LB position they moved him to FB midway during the season....

I do not believe Feist sucks. Mark my words he is going to kill it this year.

Let me start by saying that I know Feist switched to FB this season.
So yeha, it didnt really affect LB depth at all.
Also, if we're moving to a 3-4, obviously DEs like Key, Bower and some incoming guys like Anthony, will be rush OLBs.

Fowler or Divinity may start from day 1. We are getting better at LB. The Chief did not recruit LB's, lazy? Maybe he didn't care? Who knows?

LB depth has been non existent and he couldn't get on the field, so I'm going to say irrelevant

I could be alone in this and we may not have all the pieces for any great traditional 43 or 34 but I think Aranda can use guys like Thompson, Voorhies, Teuhema, MJ Patterson etc to put a great D out there, I think Aranda can use that to our advantage to build a kind of faster 34 similar to the way Chavis ran his 43. I was always a fan of the way we matched up against spread teams because of our team speed on D.

Opens up a slot for this recruiting class, good news to me.

Most of the tweeners LSU has recruited over the years play linebacker in 3-4. Mingo is a lb in the NFL. Also it's not like LSU has never ran a 3 man front before. I'm not going to do the work for you, but search for some of those articles people have posted about Arandas D.

unless we move some guys around
I think this is the first thing Aranda will do. I think we might see Key at LBer in some formations. Obviously, he'll be a down lineman most of the time tho. I also think we'll see Devin White at LBer instead of RB.

Which still means nothing since he'll be in San Antonio.

It messed up the linebacker depth chart in your head but not the actual one. He's transferring because he wasn't going to play.
Voohries, Beckwith, Riley and Alexander were probably all in front of him. Considering that we average 2 linebackers on the field at a time, and that freshmen coming in were probably also going to pass him, he was not going to be a factor.
The guy seems like a great athlete. Maybe he just doesn't have the instincts.
