I don't understand how you people can go from all hail Romero to he should be riding pine in a matter of 2 days. Yes he had a bad series, Mike had 6. Yes he left runners on, Beau Jordan has left over 25 in his 3-30 slump. My point is you can't just turn around and bench someone for good because they had a bad two days. It's in no way indicative of the way that they've played for the majority of the season. Baseball is the biggest game of failure and great players go through major slumps (see Harper, B in 2015 and Trout, M in 2014, same year he won the MVP) but their managers don't stick them on the bench. They let them get their feel back in the box, and hopefully restore their confidence. Papierski allowed 2 wild pitches and 2 stolen bases in 5 innings yesterday, so that's really not much different than what Jordan did. LSU is going to need Romero's bat to make a run, putting him on the bench makes me question if any of you have ever played or coached at any level. If anyone should be benched it should be the guy going 3-30 and letting balls fall in the OF, not the guy in his 4th sec series as a starter, who had an off weekend.

No Pap will be the catcher till Romero gets right. Once he gets right by pinch hitting a couple games then u reinsert him. Thats how u handle that

"Allowed two wild pitches". Wow, that's a first ! Wonder how many Yogi "allowed " in his career? All this over Romero not starting behind the plate in the second game of a morning/afternoon double header. He's was struggling at the plate, so it madeno sense to DH him. He was just being rested. Chill.

If you're going to use a statistic against one player at position X then you have to use it for the other player at position X. People are using the wild pitches against Romero, I was bringing to light that their savior allowed wild pitches as well. Short memory in Tiger fandom, all the games Jordan has helped us to win over the course of the season, after 48 bad hours y'all are ready to put him out to pasture.

I agree with you completely, but what I think KT was f'ing with you about was your phrasing (yes, I am an Archer fan). I know what you mean when you say "allowed wild pitches" and he should too. Just like a solid defensive 1B often scoops throws in the dirt from 3B, SS or 2B and saves the infielder from being charged with what would otherwise be an error, a C can block a ball in the dirt and avoid the P being charged with a WP.

A wild pitch is charged to the pitcher as it's his fault. A passed ball is charged to the catcher as it's his fault. All I am saying. Hard to scoop a pitch that is 3 feet outside & traveling 90+ mph.

We're on the same page KT.

I just thought you were f'ing with the guy for the expression "allowed a wild pitch".

Getting a little late into the discussion but the DH is for the pitcher.

I particularly enjoyed the one at which Eliza fooled that Hungarian. In fact, I've never seen a ruder pest!

Love seeing a "My Fair Lady" fan on the rant!
