Ok, there are still some who think JJ can pull out of this and develop into a good QB. I hope they are correct.

There are others who think he cannot, and that there is ample data to say he has been given every chance in the world, but it does not project good.

1) Yes - JJ can improve well enough to provide a decent passing threat to allow us to win the big upcoming 4 games of UF, Auburn, Bama and Arky.

2) No - JJ just is not growing, after 17 starts and multiple poor games against lesser quality opponents, he just cannot consistently provide enough of a psssing threat to beat the big upcoming 4 games of UF, Auburn, Bama and Arky.

What you got?

No. I have supported JJ the whole way until last night. He has gotten worse. It's time to give Lee a chance and I hope Lee starts against Tennessee. I truly feel like that is the best thing for this team.

I think I'm tired of talking about it. The offense is so obviously dysfunctional I'm for blowing the whole thing up and starting over. I'm not confident that it can be salvaged at this point.

They threw Lee to the wolves two years ago because there was nobody else to turn to. Now with the offense stuggling, they won't give him a chance. Maybe the coaches are worried about JJ's confidence, but they sure didn't seeem to care about Lee's two years ago.

I say give him a shot against Tenn. It can't hurt.

Well, I did find one postive about Jefferson's play Saturday night - unlike Geno Smith, Jefferson did not try to take a snap from under the right guard

The toughest coaching jobs always takes place in the years when you don't have a very good QB on your roster. There never seems to be a good solution and the mounting pressure makes it even harder to find your way. Look at Texas and Georgia this year for more examples of this.

That said it our coaching staff seems to really be struggling with how to proceed. As a coach it is necessary to make some assumptions at to what your strengths as a team will be based on spring and fall practices. Then the season starts and you adjust as needed. At this point in time it isn't clear as to how the game planning/play calling duties are split up between Miles, Crowton and Gonzales.

However the duties are split, there seems to be much confusion as to how to proceed. When JL put his helmet on early in the 3rd quarter it was obvious he did so because one of the coaches had told him he was going in. Then when the offense took the field and JJ went back out, so someone was overruled...at least that's how it looked to me. It seemed to be a perfect time to put JL in and give him a real try, but instead he was put in later in a situation that it made NO sense to put him in.

If I was king of LSU football and could tell Miles what to do, I would tell him to take over the offense, lock stock and barrel. Miles leans toward a conservative and simple offensive philosphy and in the past has really loved having a good line and a power back to lean on. Just so happens it appears that is this team's strength. With a D like we have and the plays being made on ST, a steady conservative offense would be a great spouse.

It is VERY difficult and frustrating to watch such an obviously talented team struggle so much. I have always been a Miles supporter and have been willing to give Crowton a pass the last two years for reasons that have been covered on this board many times. But THIS, this is going downhill fast and calls for some pretty drastic changes going forward.

Now yes I know it is very hard to completely overhaul your offense mid-season, but IMO we don't need a COMPLETE overhaul. Just coach a little better and play a little better. JJ or JL don't have to be Drew Brees, Just playing like that Hartline kid at Kentucky would be plenty.

Ok, off my soapbox now.

WHY isn't he a LEADER / (Game WINNER) yet????

Why do they have to "baby" him and ease him into games and not put him in situations where he HAS to MAKE A PLAY for us?

They tried that last week and JJ player his best game ever. This week they kept making him throw the ball after he had shown that he couldn't do it and also in situations where we probably could have run the ball on second and third down to pick up the first.

Do these stupid fricking coaches think this team really needs to throw the ball on 2nd and 4 or 5?

Me too. There is obviously disagreement on this somewhere on the coaching staff. That was just strange.

Honestly I don't think it matters whose under center as long as G. Crowton is calling the offense.
