Starts on the DL. Watching Auburn tonight they won by being able to stuff the run, rotate lineman.

I'd think this trend of mediocre players going pro should end after this year. We have to hit on two of Bain, Gilmore, Herron, Lacouture. I wish we were recruiting more D Tackles this year. I think that's what the future of our defensive program comes down to. Should be interesting.

Starts with being a fundamentally sound. No penalties, no blown assignments. Thats where the road to elite start.

Yes because our program is not elite as it is.

Hard to disagree with you there. We've looked extremely soft up the middle against quite a few teams this year. The fact that Arkansas could run at will on us really scared me. If AJ wants to go pro, please do. Dude has underachieved this year big time and I'm ready for some fresh blood there.

But at the same time with this supremely underachieving D-line, it was really our extreme lack of experience in the defensive backfield. We expected Mills to really step up and he just couldn't do it. So we had to depend on Robinson, a guy who didn't even get on campus until like a week before the season, and White another true freshman. Now that they've stepped up, we're looking much better heading into next year.

Yeah, I can't recall a year where LSU struggled so mightly on the DL like this year. Auburn's DL is way ahead of LSU's imo

Meyer's Gators routinely lead the league in penalties, we weren't far behind.

If you don't have the horses, it doesn't matter how fundamentally sound you are.

This guy named Carl Lawson came up big for them. I here he is a freshman or something.

Elite players make elite plays.

We need to finish strong on the recruiting trail.

I didn't say Auburn's elite. They've got luck shitting out from every which direction.

But they got pretty good at stopping the run towards the end of the year. And that played a big role in them winning the west.

If we get some nice DTs and an actual MLB I think we have the speed on the edges and defense may look similar to 2011. Man, that defense was good.

Would rather get rid of you, one freakishly ignorant and terrible fake LSU fan. People like you need to be whipped with a stick.

LSU's main issue right now is attrition, the staff must find a way to address this or it won't have the experience or upperclassman leadership to win championships.

I can agree with that. I think a lot of that has to do with the 2011 let down. Going from potentially the best run ever to that pretty much seemed to deflate everyone's balloons.

Once every one from that is gone, and they see the Chris Faulks/Tharold Simons/Probably one of Freak/Ego/Collins this year- Players that go pro only to struggle to stay on an NFL roster, it will probably take care of itself.

I agree 100%. Are number one issue is retention at the moment. Our recruiting is still top notch as we likely land a top 3 class this year.

If we had some of those guys back from last year then we probably win against Georgia and destroy Ole Miss.

That being said. I think if we can keep those borderline players from going pro next year then 2015 we will make another run.

Need playmakers in the front 7, not just DL. Anxious to see how Beckwith progresses.
