I don't think his D will do as well stopping the spread as Chavis. ironically, the only team in the west I think Steele will struggle against is A&M.

It will all depend on who is A&M's QB when we play them & how aggressive the game plan will be surrounding our front 4.

Kyle Allen is mobile but he isn't very shifty in space. He seems more of the type of QB who wants to beat a defense from the confines of the pocket rather than taking off.

If Allen struggles at any point in the season & gets benched or he gets injured which forces A&M then to go to true freshman Kyler Murray then things change. Murray won't be as comfortable at times with what he sees from a coverage standpoint & will take off. He's also a pest to tackle in space because he can make guys miss.

So far from camp we've heard talk of getting the front 4 up the field to apply pressure as well as talk of more line stunts. You don't want to be over aggressive in your pass rush against a guy like Murray. He's the only potential QB the team may face where it would be wise for the DE's not to wildly go after or not to have a lot of D-Line stunts because you create creases by doing so.

Not a fan of the Brandon Allen praise around here.

Harris should put up better numbers than him. Harris will account for more total TDs rushing and passing.

Think about how limited Harris played last year and he still accounted for 9 TD's.. think about that.. 6 passing and 3 rushing I believe.

That's nearly half of Allen's numbers, although Allen did have 2 total rushing TD's all season.

Harris gets this team in the endzone period. Keep in mind he was a true fresh last season. He has so much more upside.

But I get it. LSU fans would be happy with 20 tds and 5 ints.. I look forward to more.

Yeah I've beat this drum about Allen's improvement, but I always tailored it to Jennings. As a matter of fact, Allen wasn't a ton better than Jennings in conference play. I've tailored Harris to JT Barrett. I know people are going to think I'm crazy, but I really think Harris could go off this year. I'd deal with 10-12 ints if he hit 60%+, over 8 yards per attempt, and 25+ passing TDs.

I was hesitant weeks back, but f**k it. Less than 10 days, I'm going to say what I truly believe. Right now my prediction is 3300 yards total and 32 TDs total. That's just through 13 games though. We could go 11-1, but our 1 loss could keep us out of the SECCG if the other team is let's say Bama, that's undefeated or has only 1 loss (see the reverse of 2011).

2200 yards , 20 TDs and 5 Ints...

FWIW this is almost identical to the numbers from 2011. Lee, Jefferson and Mett combined for 2135 yards, 21 TDS and 5INTs

Hunter Henry had about 500 of those yards. It would be nice to funnel that to our TE's
