Former LSU outfielder, Terry Belle, was killed in a traffic accident in AZ. No link or details are available. A good Tiger and a nice man.

Man, that's awful.

You never heard anything about him after he left LSU. Unfortunately, we heard all too much about his twin brother, whom I no longer even like to claim.

Is that the same guy as Albert belle

Albert (Joey)'s twin brother. They played at the same time, Terry lasting a year longer at LSU. Solid ballplayer, not as talented as his bro, but not a dick like Joey, either.

Sorry to hear that.

Had to chuckle at this about Joey:
quote:

It was a taken in baseball circles that Albert Belle was nuts... The Indians billed him $10,000 a year for the damage he caused in clubhouses on the road and at home, and tolerated his behavior only because he was an awesome slugger... He slurped coffee constantly and seemed to be on a perpetual caffeinated frenzy. Few escaped his wrath: on some days he would destroy the postgame buffet...launching plates into the shower... after one poor at-bat against Boston, he retreated to the visitor's clubhouse and took a bat to teammate Kenny Lofton's boombox. Belle preferred to have the clubhouse cold, below 60 degrees, and when one chilly teammate turned up the heat, Belle walked over, turned down the thermostat, and smashed it with his bat. His nickname, thereafter, was "Mr. Freeze.

Both played high school baseball at Huntington HS in Shreveport while I was in high school. Talk about night and day. Terry was quiet and Joey was always on the edge you can say.

Joey's bio makes it sound like he was actually very intelligent.

He was/is.

He's also pretty neurotic.

Didn't Terry get a business degree and work as Joey's agent or accountant for a while?

Very sad! Terry was a great guy. I was a freshman with him at LSU and we lived on the same floor of hatcher hall. BTW, both he and Joey were very smart. Both graduated near the top of their high school class. Very sad day.
