so is it ok for a player to throw his coach under the bus, but not ok for a coach to throw a player under the bus.

Sure, but if you are on the receiving end of his comments - do you see it as leadership or immaturity?

A bit of both. A "teachable moment", if you will.

Honestly, if you are able to parse the comment without letting emotion take over (I'm speaking as if I'm the person on the receiving end), then I explain why those things don't need to be aired in public and to be more mindful of what is said to the press in the future. That's it.

I personally wouldn't take playing time away, though.

And why shouldn't a player be allowed to comment or question his coach? If the press asks them questions or asks for a comment, are they supposed to lie?

Well, I suppose in some cases it might be appropriate and in others not so much. If Les Miles was in the habit of calling out his players individually in press conferences for poor play, then it would seem fine. Because he does not, the players should afford him the same courtesy.

So would you go as far as to say, once the issue had been addressed with the player, it would be like nothing at all had happened? That if the game were on the line, you would allow the play to be a hand-off to that player?

Indeed I would.

I am actually relieved to know that our players arent brainwashed to the point that they believe all of Miles decisions are the right ones. I dont want a mutiny either.

I was of this opinion as well. However, Dickson's and Ridley's quotes fill me with some hope.

Just as last week's game was a defining moment, this weekend's game could be just as telling.

Haha, if he gives you the best chance to win, I'm sure you are right. I just don't know that I would be able to do it.

This weekend confirmed what alot of us already assumed about Miles and his ability to coach or be out coached. I'm glad it happened before we doubled his damn contract again. Joe Alleva certainly noticed this as well.

Though there is a difference between not agreeing with a play call and publicly saying it. I doubt very much that any of the players have ever been brainwashed.
