There seat is not always empty because they give away/sell their tickets when they don't go. Having new people every week in prime seats who really don't have much invested into the Tigers is why so many leave at halftime now or don't get that into the game
I don't have season tickets, and buy off someone who does. Sometimes above face. I don't see why you minimize this investment in 1 game. Unless I take my small children to a rent a win. I stay to the end, and yell as loud as I can.

No one I know buys single game tix just to take a selfie and head out.

i thought the caller yesterday on scona right before alevia was all pissed piss cause he didnt get his seats in 103. Scona said ohhh so you arent very high up in the priority points, insinuating he inherited those tickets. Then alevia said well at that time he could have gotten better seats than his in 103.

I heard that guy too who sounded as if he had overly inflated sense of entitlement. I loved how Scona regulated on him with the fact that this isn't even really a "home" game. Obviously the guy was exaggerating his first-world plight anyway, based on Alleva's response.

I need to figure out the cheapest way to get to Br this weekend. Flights out of Dallas aren't cheap.

you may be unaware of this, but most people who don't regularly attend LSU football games, don't want to. They are stay at home and watch on TV fans. So don't count on the general public to grab up LSU football tickets because they have that chance. If season ticket holders don't want them, the general public sure as hell don't either.

LSU is truly a "big game" crowd

it kind of goes with the territory of becoming an elite program. You have your cup cake games, a handful of SEC middlings that you should beat with ease, and one or two truly big games.

Whereas when you're a middling program every game seems much bigger, at least from a competitive standpoint.

I think it has more to do with a spoiled fan base vs. "the poor man" being priced out.

You have to realize there are a lot of season ticket holders that live far enough away to make it impossible for them to attend on such short notice.
This is a perfect opportunity for those around BR area to go that aren't season ticket holders and get really good seats. They should have opened up ticket sales to everyone yesterday.

It would seem like, on such short notice, if they wanted to pack the place out they would start the tickets at a $35 minimum similar to EMU and McNeese.

If they were to be 100% honest, they do NOT want to pack the place.. from a logistics standpoint LSU is not ready and will be short staffed (heck they are already worried about being able to have enough water on hand) and from USC's point of view, having less fans there is not necessarily a bad thing.... If the same revenue can be generated by selling less tickets at a higher price.. everyone is in favor of that

Talk to South Carolina. They are the ones who set the ticket prices for this game, not LSU.

Maybe you guys will realize what others have been saying for several years now. The Tiger Stadium crowd ain't what it used to be. Many season ticket holders keep renewing, but they only make 1 or 2 games a year. Every week there is someone different sitting in those seats. Corporate seats, give them away to neighbors, etc. All the Facebook selfies that are posted on Saturday and Sundays aren't the people bringing the noise to Death Valley. Let me show up 15 minutes after kickoff, take a few photos, then leave at halftime.

The diehards in the South endzone show up every week, and most of them stay. But the people between the 20's on both sides of the stadium just don't care to be at the games more than once or twice a season.

This is based on nothing other than your own, subjective and likely skewed perspective. The Tiger Stadium crowd is no different now than it has ever been. The school continues to set attendance records each year. The demand for tickets is higher than it ever has been. Look at the re-sale value of tickets on the secondary market. The crowds will always stay for the close games, and bail on the blow-outs. Always have, and always will. And I have no problem with a season ticket holder giving or selling their tickets to someone else when they can't go. Sometimes life makes it impossible to attend 7 games a season. It's better than leaving an empty seat in the stadium.

They said yesterday that USC set the prices for this. It's still technically their game.

The price on my ticket that I had for the game AT South Carolina said $75.00. The ticket I bought yesterday was $75.00. Same price!

Makes me wonder what the percentage of season ticket holders live outside a 3-4 hour radius of Baton Rouge.

This is a good point...would be interesting to know that number. I live outside that range and still plan to make it in this weekend. Strange set of events that had to happen to make this occur.

Many of us season ticket holders have other commitments made months ago for this Saturday. My wife and I won't even be able to watch most of the game on TV Saturday.

I have three neighbors (couples) all who have had season tickets for years and attend every home game. Like us, each of them had previous commitments they cannot break so they did not order tickets.

It isn't just the corporate tickets that aren't selling for this game.

Depending on the sale to students, I would be surprised if we even had 50K in TS Saturday. I think 35K plus however many students come.

I remember making a lot of fun of Joke Campbell Stadium when I went to grad school at FSU 97-2000. They got up for 2, maybe 3 games a year, and didn't give a crap about anyone else. It wasn't loud. People left early in droves. They were spoiled rotten.

EVERY ONE of these points could be made about Tiger Stadium today. Feel free to try and argue, but our fanbase is every bit as spoiled and entitled now as FSU's was then. And they were insufferable. Still, this is more human nature than anything else. People naturally get spoiled when they get used to success.

If there was any way my wife and I could get there this weekend, we would, but it's very difficult to swing a 12 hour + round trip drive on this short a notice.
