In short, Georgia Southern beating the 6th ranked Tigers at home would not surprise him.

Just for clarity...

Didn't he get fired for being a degenerate gambler?

I would be shocked if this team (LSU) isn’t ready to play 60 minutes of mean azz football.

He took place in a neighborhood March Madness pool and lied about it to NCAA.

Why frick this guy? Orgeron basically said the same thing before the Rice game last year. He was asked about having a letdown and his response was that the learned their lesson the year before. Coach O probably "remembers" Troy every year the week before a rent a win.

Just because he doesn't say something positive about LSU doesn't mean you should hate him. He's a radio analyst, not an LSU sunshine pumper.

IF we have a letdown, Orgeron should be fired before he walks off the field.

A letdown is extremely unlikely. Like less than 1% likely after the Troy debacle.

The head coach has mentioned Troy leading up to this game so I think it's fair game for anyone else to bring it up.

No shite, I doubt anyone on this staff needs to be reminded of Troy. Thanks Rick.

Honestly, I don't think Orgeron will ever allow another letdown like that ever again as long as he's coaching. If for some reason that's what it took for LSU to be a playoff contender, it's a good trade IMO.

That office NCAA Basketball Tourney pool has taken down many of degenerates.
Dumbass.

I think there’s a good bit of people in media and here, too that are looking past this game.

Georgia Southern is not a bad team. We’d better not sleepwalk into this game.

Is that why? I thought it was just because he sucked and lost to teams like Georgia Southern all the time.

It’s the first game. The team and staff aren’t looking past these guys if they are this year won’t be what we are all hoping for.

I’m honestly trying to understand wtf you’re saying.
Arkansas last year was a letdown. Ole Miss this year will be a let down. As a former coach, you can stand on your head, do magic tricks, bring in strippers, etc, but when the collective mindset of a team is down, or overconfident, it is the hardest thing for a coach to control. Ed is emotional. His teams play emotional at times, but getting so high one week makes it difficult the next.
The coach two states east is a psychology major and keeps his team on an even keel, except for the LSU game. That’s why they struggle the week after, but win unimpressively.
I rambled, but don’t think that Ed has a lockdown in preventing letdowns. NOBODY does.

It doesn’t matter what the media and fans are doing.

It’s game one. The players have waited long enough. They’ll be focused and ready to destroy GSU.

Sounds like Coach O disagrees with you...

LSU coach Ed Orgeron didn’t want to hear about resting key starters or giving young reserves more snaps — no matter how much of a prohibitive favorite his tenth-ranked Tigers may be against struggling Rice.

Apparently, bad memories of the Troy Trojans celebrating a stunning upset triumph in Death Valley last season remain fresh in the Cajun coach’s mind.

“Listen, man. We learned our lesson last year and that’s not going to happen to us again,” Orgeron said. “So we’re going full bore against these guys.
