Sober, and my heart not pounding 100x a minute. A few observations.

1) LSU was driving comfortably on their first 2 possessions. Dumb presnap penalties killed both of those drives.

2) TM7 was having a solid game until his inexplicable hold/slash.

3) Several of TRs tackles were solo. Taylor and Reid had a few each. TR is twice Taylor's size, and Taylor had at least 3 solos against TR.

4) Miles got way too conservative when LSU had the ball at the 45, 1st and 10 with 2+ mins left. Three straight runs off left guard.

5) Alabama looked beat when they went out on offense in OT. No excitement whatsoever. I think LSU's front 8 really took it out of them.

6) TR is still a beast and best RB in the country. But with the exception of 2 receptions and a run, LSU had his # in second half.

7) Eric Reid had an AMAZING game. Clearly Player of the Game. Was everywhere. Tackles with great technique.

8) Ware ran hard, but Ford was finding the holes. Didn't realize in the live game how effective Ford was. Bama wasn't prepared for his speed burst.

9) Can we stop with the FB dive to Hilliard. I think we've run it 3 times for -5 yards this year. Hilliard needs a step to get that mass moving. Waste of a play.

Lol, wut?

Taylor is listed as 6'0", 194 pounds, but I don't know - he looks closer to 208 to 212 pounds. He's giving up a lot of weight to TR, but Taylor (like Mathieu, and to a certain degree Brooks) plays bigger than he looks.

i agree and have been saying this for awhile now. Plus when he's in at FB, more times than not he gets the ball...too predictable. Let him get a head of steam from the I.

I just watched the one hour replay on CBS Sports Net -

One thing I would add - that interception by Claiborne was a thing of beauty in slow motion. His vertical leap was unbelievable!

Yep. Got burned across the middle once bad. Another completion across the middle was just a perfectly thrown ball and a diving WR catch. Can't do much about that.

Downed the first punt at the 4. Body slammed the TE for very little gain, with no help around. Pass rush caused incompletions a few times. Helped a few assists. Had a good hit on TR on the sidelines.

Nothing spectacular, but solid.

agreed. if he isn't forcing a turnover and returning for a td, people here think he sucks.

Only problem is Ford can't block!

I agree with alot of that...Didn't like settling for the field goal going into the half either. Take another shot at the end zone...you have a chip shot guaranteed...some kind of three step fade or slant to ensure you don't get sacked but at least TRY to score a touchdown.

Are we now raising the bar for spectacular?

Body slamming a TE who is 80 pounds heavier and throwing him 5 feet back.

Running 50 yards from across the field on the other side to help out a broken play by tackling and pushing out TR SINGLE-HANDEDLY to prevent a sure TD. (The same TR who carried DEs and LBs with him)

We sure are not going to enjoy anybody's play in the future if these don't met our benchmark standards.

Best secondary I've seen in 25+ years of watching college ball. I don't see Claiborne returning next year, but they would be unreal.

Then again, even if he goes, there's a scramble of great DBs fighting for his spot.

And if we close the deal with L. Collins, we're going to stay badass at DB for years.

Yeah, I'm going to re-watch the game tomorrow. I, too was not sober, and very anxious watching the game so my view was distorted.

But with that said, my initial impression is that a bright light pointed out the weakest players on the field, amongst a pool of NFL talent all over the field.

Hatcher's bad angles, inability to fill the holes, and poor arm tackles showed why he'll never make it on the next level.

Minter & Baker both missed major assignments, couldn't get off blocks, & showed a lack of lateral speed and in-game awareness.

It seemed every time a running play went nowhere or there was penetration in the backfield, T-Bob was routinely getting blown up.

If both quarterbacks had dreams of ever getting drafted, this game sealed their fate as future UDFA's.

Chase Clement & DeAngelo Peterson showed multiple times they can't maintain block NFL-sized defenders.

Again, I was drinking and emotional, so I could be wrong about all of them, so I'll definitely re-watch the game again, but that's my first impression of the big game under-performers.

They did this too many times during the game IMHO! Looked like Auburn 2006!

Got conservative on the goal line. LSU shouldve come away with a TD

Hilliard definetly runs it better from the rb position. Although he runs it decent from the fb spot as well there was a run earlier in the year he got some nice yardage on it just isnt a designed play to get a lot of yardage and because we run it so much it seems defended nicely

actually, it's used to set up other plays when he's in. like the fake to him/ flip to the TB. and I think it was also used to make the D key on him/ flow to the inside, only to have us run a speed option.

tm7 saved a td on the busted pass to trent richardson.. and was coming across the entire field to do so. and yes he had some excellent tackles and plays in the game.

Noticed this in the first half too. It seemed his biggest gains were because of blown coverage.

I don't recall seeing anyone but Ware running until near the end of the first half (I don't include JJ). It seems weird to say it, but I think we might have scored a TD if we had just kept running it with the RBs. Lee couldn't calm down, and all of Jeff's planned runs were horrible (His broken play runs were almost always good)

An observation I had was that BDS didn't look loud. I thought it seemed a little quiet for a #1v#2 game and really quiet compared to what Death Valley would probably have been like.
