1st Half

1. Etling overthrew Jeter in 1st Quarter
2.Toliver's back turned to a play that would have prevented them scoring any points in 1st half
3. Etling overthrew Dural in 2nd Quarter
4. Missed PAT (inexcusable)
5. We took way too long on that last drive and should have gotten more plays off and settled for a FG.

2nd Half

1. We should have gotten a fumble recovery (around the 8:30 mark). No one reviewed it. (3rd Quarter) They had the ball for almost 9 min on that drive (ended w a field goal)
2. A minute into our first drive, LF fumbles (Miss State recovers).
3. Etling overthrows LF (wide open down the sideline)
4. LF fumbles (stopped a drive likely ending in a score and game over).

What I liked:

Penalties were down compared to last week.
Passing game looked pretty crisp most of the time and they threw to multiple people (Moore is an example)
Dupre doesn't have the drops anymore (knock on wood)

Bottom Line:

Give Moo State's WRs some credit on three plays that kept a drive alive (Toliver looked a bit lost but Jefferson and Paris were in position and the passes were perfect)
We need more 3 and outs
Get rid of the TOs (LF will fix that)
Stay on the gas offensively
Run D up the middle is a bit inconsistent (could be still adjusting to 3-4)

As long as they keep improving, we'll keep winning.

solid post.. We had an ugly loss but if there's a year we can survive it this is one of em imo big 12 and pac 12 champs will have 2 losses. Iowa can do damage after a loss to fcs team. Louisville and unc can beat Clemson and FSU because neither team is playing great. A lot of parity this year. Bama looks beatable and the way we stop the read option (two weeks in a row vs very good runners) we can stop that bama freshman. Point is we are close to being an elite defense. And one of the biggest things this offense needed it got in good qb play. Make no mistake about it they were fragile and about to completely lose confidence all the way around. Etling came in at the right time for sure to save face. I'm telling u confidence is now much better and with good Oline play and etling improving each week this can be A very very good offense. This team can go 7-1 maybe 8-0 with a little luck in sec play.

That end around at the end was horrible call with 9'in box. Perfect time for a screen or even deep ball. They threw on 3rd down anyway

I will confess to not having reviewed that play and only saw it live in the stadium, but It appeared to me that if Leonard had kept running he perhaps could have caught that ball over his shoulder. Without turning, taking a couple of steps backwards, and then jumping, he could have been five yards further down field. For some reason LSU players think they have to stop, turn around, and jump up for passes that they can potentially run under and catch over the shoulder. Malachi is guilty of this as well. Who is coaching these guys to not run under balls?

LF did turn around and started back peddling vs keeping stride.

I'm sure that's one they'll see on film and kick themselves over.
