Re-assign him to the new position created just for him:

Assistant Athletic Director, Chaplain and Morale Officer for the LSU Student Body.

As a goodwill Ambassador for LSU, and as a Mentor to adolescent students at LSU, Mr. Les Miles would be a superstar.

I like. I think Les is a fantastic ambassador for LSU. Just don't let him within 200 feet of a headset.

Get him away from the headset. Put him face to face mentoring, counseling, encouraging students, doing social work appearances and visiting sick people in need of some encouragement, fellowship and Prayer.

First, we need to hold a funeral service so the pumpers can wear black and cry about this true tragedy.

Not necessary because Coach Les Miles will be PROMOTED to this new position that we created for him.

COACH EMERITUS LES MILES. Lifetime position. Asst AD. Chief of Student Morale and Welfare. Ambassador of LSU. Lifting spirits and being the Human Face of LSU at every public appearance.

It doesn't have to be a year round job. If he replaces Lee Corso on GameDay during football season, that's fine.

Leave most of the community service stuff to Les, rather than the new HC, because we want the new HC's arse to be welded or otherwise attached to the facility practice field and offices.

Shaq would do some stuff like this for LSU from time to time. I'll bet you that he's never been REQUESTED by the University to assist in this capacity.

I'll bet Alleva has never even THOUGHT of this idea.

Coach Miles, we NEED you and your special interpersonal skills. We simply want a younger man to take on the extreme burden of being the head football coach.

Believe me, Coach Miles, you don't want to be the new coach, because the new coach will be putting in every waking hour at the football facility -- THAT will be a job requirement.

Are you saying they should hire me to come up with ideas for Alleva?

My first idea would be to have a basketball game played IN tiger stadium

Would you go?

I don't recall anyone saying it was a tragedy, but the man did a lot of good things, professionally and personally, for LSU and the community. No need for snide remarks. If you want another football coach, fine. Just move on

No, I want Coach Miles to do that.

I don't want him kicked off campus. I want him to be PROMOTED out of the head football coach position. The new head football coach is going to be brutalized and expected to spend every waking hour working at the football facility during the season -- and the AD will personally manage the head football coach to ensure that this is enforced.

Coach Miles is too old for that grind, but, we can't do without him when it comes to being a mentor to LSU students and an Ambassador of LSU to the greater La. community.

The new coach will be having NO fun whatsoever. Coach Emeritus Les Miles will BE IN CHARGE OF ALL OF THE FUN.

We need a new format for the position of LSU head football coach. We expect the new coach to spend most of his life at the facility studying, coaching, planning, improving, managing and creating Championship Football.

This is the deal. The job pays 5 million a year. If you can't agree to these job obligations, don't apply. If you can't spend 15 hours a day at the facility, don't bother to apply. Arrive ready for work at 6 am. Depart for the evening at 9pm. There might be some days during the season where your workday might be longer.
