Because it's already on film from Wisconsin.
We showed the 3 WR, 1 back against Wisky, that's all.

Football teams need real, game reps to get better. You run your offense so that your players can get better and learn from mistakes made against opponents. If you want to save one or two specific formations, or plays, go ahead and hold those back. But you don't "hide" 40% of your playbook.
But you don't put stuff on film if you don't have to. MSU can study the second half vs Wisky, and the vanilla offense vs SHSU and ULM. There are definitely more plays in the playbook, and the team will run them at the appropriate time.

College coaches work a lot harder than you give them credit for. If you think they only look at what LSU has done for 3 games then you are mistaken. I guarantee you that sometime between January and August members of the Miss St staff broke down every LSU game from last year and several from the previous LSU/MSU meetings. LSU is not going to surprise Miss St with some top secret offensive game plan. We will come out and run pretty much what we have done for the first three weeks (maybe one or two wrinkles), and we will most likely win. Just don't expect a different look from the offense.

This worked great the first half of the wisky game! Had to play catch up after that

Interesting you didn't address anything I said. The "secret playbook"
argument is predicated upon opposing coaches studying the immediately preceding game more than others. Doesn't work like that gentleman!!

You sunshine guys do realize that you can run the ball and not be in I-formation, 1 WR, 3 TEs, right?

I hope we're never in that formation. I hate penalties for too many men on the field.

There is no secret playbook. There are just more plays in the playbook that have not been run yet.

The personnel from last year was different. We don't have Mett, OBJ, Juice, and Hill this year. This team has not shown everything its capable of just yet. All this team has shown is I-formation and some 3 WR, 1 RB set against Wisky. Studying film from last year does not prepare MSU for this LSU team. The teams are vastly different. The only constant, which is no secret, is the power running game.

To please the Rant, LSU should have used every play in the playbook against inferior opponents? Zone read, read-option, 5 wide no back, 1 back 4 WR, TE flexed, bubble screens, fly sweeps?

Other top teams in the country seem to have no problem doing this. Bama doesn't hold back. TAMU doesn't give a crap about putting plays on film. Oregon doesn't care. Auburn doesn't care either.

Executing in a game is a lot different than executing in practice. Maybe there's a reason we have so many execution issues in the past. Because we don't get any game experience doing it.

Yep.

People forget we wuold've been lucky to go to OT with Wisconsin had Diarse not turned a 5 yard pass into a 30+ yard TD. LSU couldn't do that again if that same play was run 50 times.

A&M and Auburn base formation is spread. The have not run anything different than normal. What has Bama shown other than bubble screens?

I understand your point. I just think the staff went into the last 2 games understanding that we could win using a base package. When we needed to be diverse in the play calling, we made it happen.

Les again on Connor Neighbors: "We're better when he's in the lineup."

Just when you think the game is over or close at halftime, he just keeps coming at you. Same style, same ferocity. The opponent then realizes that they have nothing left, yet the Tigers keep coming. Before you know it, the game is over, your dreams crushed. Les goes home a victor.

Exactly the cause of his record. Not pretty, but entertaining as hell to watch.

Whatever it takes!

According to MSU coach, LSU is not the only team that has not shown most of its playbook.

Jeremy Hill ran the toss lead, Leonard Fournette is running the toss lead. On 3rd and medium Jarvis Landry ran quick outs from the inside receiver position in trips formation, last week Trey Quinn ran the quick out from the inside receiver position in trips.

We aren't reinventing the wheel, just modifying what we do. Same sets, same philosphies, just less passing.

Not really sure if you are serious. Kenny Hill is a first year starter with a group of receivers as young or younger than our group. As for not throwing over the middle because that's where linebackers and safeties are located, well there are people all over the field. That's kind of the point of football and defense to have people where the offensive players are. The only place you could throw where there isn't anyone is behind the line of scrimmage. Here's your sign.

No one wants a pass happy offense. I mean we ran the ball up the middle almost every play against ULM, that's just not gonna cut it against SEC competition. We gotta make defenses pay for stacking the box. Seriously, if we can make defenses pay for stacking the box, I think we will be very happy with the offense.

You would find a way to bitch about an undefeated season that results in a national championship.
