According to multiple sources of Gil Lebreton’s of the Star-Telegram, Allen’s destination of choice is TCU. The only problem? LSU has told Allen he cannot transfer to any SEC school or TCU.

quote:

Without specifically stating why LSU would block Allen from leaving the program and heading to Fort Worth, Lebreton suggests the recruitment of Justin Rogers is to blame. Rogers, Louisiana’s No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2018 recruiting cycle, is a four-star prospect and committed to TCU over LSU just weeks ago. Considering LSU’s desperate attempts to find an elite quarterback in recent seasons, letting the state’s top prospect leave for TCU isn’t the best sign for Ed Orgeron’s LSU program.

Right. Doing this never reflects well on the program that does it. Ends up looking petty.

Not if TCU was trying to recruit him while he was on LSU's roster.

we have 2 elite qb's on roster now. Anymore would transfer out or just not come here.

I never understood why certain schools are blocked. Within conference is understandable, but why is TCU being blocked?

Speculation! They haven't played a down yet. I'll take all the QBs we can get, and then sort them out after we see them play.

Normally, I would say I support the block, but because of Sports Illustrated (AGAIN), decided to insert themselves into the politics of football programs, let him go. The additional bad publicity from it along with the SI article and Hal Mumme to the program isn't worth it.

But I understand why Ed is doing it. Suddenly, TCU is deciding to go after our transfers and recruits in Northern Louisiana, so he's trying to slow down or eliminate that movement altogether.

Let him go to TCU but if they were recruiting him and part of the reason for the transfer then I can agree with the block.

I don't buy this for one second

there's always more to stories than what we know. O is probably pissed at TCU for probably interfering with one of their players on roster at the time. It reeks of inappropriate contact.

Willie isn't a threat anywhere he goes. And there may be reason behind TCU blocked. I'll trust O. I don't care what he does, as long as LSU wins.

my opinion doesn't matter and I don't know all of it, but I'm fine with it. TCU is seemingly building a pipeline to our transfers and north LA. There are many, many schools out there.

TCU was recruiting him while he was at LSU. O is making it known that's unacceptable and won't be tolerated. Has absolutely nothing to do with Justin Rogers.

We hammer Saban for this crap. This is no different. Let him go.

edit: if TCU was recruiting him while at LSU, then I'm good with this.
