Realistically, miles does an amazing job with this program from recruiting to preparation but when it comes to the actual scheme and play calling he gets a bad rep which is why the perception of him has dwindled as of late probably bc that's the only thing the casual lsu fans see when they watch the games

Ummm.. Recruiting rankings are high, but not being able to have any consistency at QB is partly a recruiting issue, so Les doesn't deserve a pass there.

Preparation? Seriously? He does an amazing job?

The scheme isn't 100% the problem, but when the players are poorly prepared, you recruit players that don't fit your system, and have perhaps the worst clock management in history, then I'd say none of those things you are championing are an amazing job.

Les' flaws simply keep him from getting out of his own way. It's what limits him and this LSU team, and is the key difference between him and guys like, Saban and Meyer.

Frank Wilson and any defensive assistant should get raises. Any coach on the offensive side should pay money back to LSU for making us watch that shite show they called an offense this year.

BDP doesn't deserve a raise he deserves to be fired.

highest paid assistant staff in the country
Then why aren't we winning any SEC West or outright SEC Championships?

Why did LSU just finish the regular season outside the Top 20 and lose 4 games?

If we have all that "NFL" ready talent, then why aren't we kicking SEC butt every year?

After all, shouldn't the highest paid staff be producing more Championships and not letting the program regress from 2011 "Elite" status to 2014 "Mediocre Also Ran" status?

Hey man, Pumpies love them some 8-4 and Music City Bowls. (Bowls of wet and soggy Grape Nuts)

Did you actually read the article or nah?

The only one that is getting an extension that I wouldn't mind letting go is Ensminger, really.

For what? Care to provide any empirical evidence that special teams was worse this year than last?

The kicker got the yips, and I would expect the return game to not be as good without OBJ. Other than that, I'd bet special teams was right on par with last season.

Nary a soul loves 8-4 and going to the Music City Bowl. But if it helps with your RABBLE RABBLE I guess you can just make stuff up.

And wow, I thought use of the terms "pumper" and "negatiger" was fricking retarded. You've reached new levels of idiocy with "pumpies". Congrats

My primary issue has been with LF returning kicks, though that may have been a recruiting tool. Other than that, our ST have been fine to good this year, minus the UF game. I honestly don't know the role a ST coach plays in kicking technique for a place-kicker such as Delahoussaye. It's hard to imagine that he would be as effective as he was prior to this year and Peveto would magically make him suck. But who knows.

Ensminger is not a bad recruiter, but I really wonder how much of it is on him developing Tight Ends or if it's the offense that just doesn't utilize them. It blows my mind that all the young QBs we've had under Miles and none of them have used the TE as a safety net.

I don't know, but what do know, is that JJ and Lee used them decent enough.

2008 31 receptions
2009 28 receptions
2010 24 receptions
2011 28 receptions

Change those numbers to percentage of completions and attempts, and I bet it falls in line or just below the average team who throws the ball more.

IMO part of it is not having good pass catching TEs, the other part is no trust in those TEs by the QB. Maybe Ensminger is part of that reason as well though.

We don't have the highest paid staff. Alabama takes that by a long shot

Only one I'm on the fence on is Haley. He's had a ridiculous amount of talent, but the DL hasn't been as nasty as it was in years past with the exception of Mingo, Sam, Edwards, and Logan in 2011. Don't get me wrong, he has them playing at a very good level, but I would not call it elite. Plus he finishes second with more recruits than I have ever heard of.

WTF are you talking about? There are few teams with as consistent DL play as we have had since 2009. Sure 2013 was a down year, but that was also because we lost all four starters and a backup DE. He has since turned that around immensely in the last 7 weeks. With the exception of all those guys who played half of his 6 years here huh? I don't understand some of you.

If you are going to blame a lots less sacks on him, blame it on the LBs as well.

So the head coach isn't considered a part of the coaching staff?

That's dumb
