I think Cincy should pay him 50 mil a year for 6 years and donate 10 mil to LSU for giving Joe the chance to become what he is today. Sounds fair enough to me.

Damn, I posted on here yesterday about how interesting it will be when his contract comes up... I did not know the Bengals front office reads TED.com!
As I had mentioned earlier in another thread that Mahomes contract is about $47 mil/yr for 10 yrs.

Joe wants a percentage of the cap.
Thats whats coming.

They’d be ok letting Eli Apple go at least.
You think? that guy is hot garbage. How he is a starting corner in the NFL is beyond me. They need to draft a corner in the draft to replace him. They wont have the money to sign a top free agent with all the rookie contracts expiring soon on their top players.

Allen will earn an average of $43 million per season over the six years of his contract, while Murray is poised to earn an average of $46 million annually over five years.

I don’t see how they manage to keep both Chase and Higgins
Hate to hear it. Higgins is money every single time the offense needs a bailout.

Can’t believe they wasted that much money on Murray but Burrow should be the top QB in salary.

Higgins comes up same year as Joe and Chase the next
That’s why they trade Higgins now. He is under contract. They can get a #1 and maybe a 3rd. You don’t let a #1 WR get to free agency. Plenty of teams would love to have him.
It’s not a lot of WR talent in this years draft. You’ll have 3 maybe 4 guys picked in the first RD.
The Texans need a #1 WR bad. Take that #12 pick and take either Mayer or Q. Johnston.

I really hope Joe takes $25MM a year with input on personnel instead of $45MM.
He will be happier if he does. He will retire with so much money either way salary plus endorsements & businesses.
$25MM QBs can win Super Bowls for years. $45MM QBs don’t have a good enough team to keep winning.
I respect some people will think I’m crazy.

I hope they can keep his receivers in place. They need to keep Higgins, Chase, Mixon, Perine and others on this team. Otherwise, he may get stuck like Aaron Rodgers, who I think rotted away with zero help in GB. Outside of the pocket Rodgers was the most accurate QB on the move I’ve ever seen with a devastating arm. Yet, he rotted away.
Although I agree with Evy you say,
And Burrow might be my top favorite player of all time (football)
I can’t feel sorry for anybody that will get a guaranteed $50million a year for how ever many years
He’s gonna make bank and deserves it

Nobody has ever done that and never will
And would be stupid to do so

He has earned it. All Cincinnati needs to do is look across the line of scrimmage at next week’s opponent for the model of how it can work. Mahomes was paid, Hill (5th round draft pick) was traded, and they are back in the Division title game again.
The salary cap continues to rise, so its smart for the Bengals to lock in now vs chase the the 2024 season’s largest deal.

Over/under on their combined annual at 80mil.

1. Aaron Rodgers (Packers): $50.3 million (3-year, $150.8 million contract)
2. Russell Wilson (Broncos): $49 million (5-year, $245 million contract)

4. Deshaun Watson (Browns): $46 million (5-year $230 million contract)
5. Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs): $45 million (10-year $450 million contract)
6. Josh Allen (Bills): $43 million (6-year $258 million contract)
7. Derek Carr (Raiders): $40.47 million (3-year, $121.4 million contract)
T-8. Dak Prescott (Cowboys): $40 million (4-year, $160 million contract)

13. Matt Ryan (Colts): $30 million (5-year $150 million contract)
14. Ryan Tannehill (Titans): $29.5 million (4-year $118 million contract)
15. Jimmy Garoppolo (49ers): $27.5 million (5-year $137.5 million contract)
Should be no lower than 3, and with a Super Bowl win would possibly be even higher.
Six years at $47 million/year for a total of $282 million should be the least he'll get - and more if he wins it all this year.
