JD5 is taking home the award too. If it doesn’t feel like he’s getting as much love as he deserves, it only because we’re holding the voters to too high a standard.

I think the difference is the fact that Joe was on a team that was undefeated and in he CFB playoff while the Daniels team is 9-3.

Burrow was QB of the undefeated SEC champion and number 1 seed in the playoffs.

Because of the putrid D, Daniels is QB of a team playing in Tampa with some new whack a mole corporate sponsor as the bowl name.

Football, movies, relationships. The Juice killed it at everything he did.

The LSU defense was not that great until the TAMU game. They were hit and miss. The offense was so good other teams couldn’t keep up and had to try to score.
The defense really clamped down after injuries and suspensions were done especially at LB.
They ended up in the 30’s for the season but were lights out from TAMU on.

This. Daniels rushing ability on top of the passing is more impressive than Joe in 2019.

Not taking anything away from Burrow. What we witnessed this year is literal history in college football for a dual threat.

Lot of posts in early and middle of season calling for Aranda to be fired.

I think people are forgetting what Joe did better and are prisoners of the moment.

Burrow was much better spreading the ball around.

2019
1) 5 players had 47+ catches
2) 3 players had 13+ TD catches

2023
1) 2 players have more than 30 catches
2) only 2 players with more than 7 TDs

Yes, JD’s rushing has been a huge difference but Burrow got way more people involved.

Both are great, but as a straight up QB, Burrow has the advantage.

Through 12 games, JD does have 1 more TD total than Burrow, but Burrow also sat a lot more than JD with big leads.

Again, both are amazing but each in their own ways.

Serious question. Not flaming here.

What are Joe's #s vs our top 3 opponents in 2019?

And what are JD5's ?

That's a good point, and I had forgotten about it.

The Heisman isn’t just a stats award, although if you’re making a huge impact on every game you play you probably have the stats to back that up

The biggest tells that Burrow is still king are of course the performances vs elite teams and when his defense was in shambles early on he kicked it into a gear that hasn’t been duplicated.

When our defense allowed 30+ points in games Burrow was 4-0 averaging over 53ppg, Daniels is 4-3 averaging 39ppg. So when teams were able to keep up and score with us into the later portions of games Burrow elevated the team and scored even more than our season avg while JD fell back and our offensive output dropped in those instances this season.

Yeah, it was amazing what Burrow could do with that much talent around him.
