Still look forward to LSU going to Bowl Games, better than not going to a bowl at all.

Upvote.
We still need to win but if we're not in the playoff my focus is equally on the benefits of the extra practices for the guys coming back.
A prime time bowl with no football competition opposite and playing it in Houston? Couldn't have worked out better for a 6-6 record!

I remember the days when we were thrilled to be preseason Top 25! And going to a bowl game was NOT even in the realm of possibility. I hope the Tigers beat the crap outta K State. Geaux Tigers!

That’s more of an indictment on you. You’re jaded.

So in basketball they have ACC - Big 10 “tip off classics” and such. What about take 20 of the bowls and put at beginning of season with the other kick-off games? Before you say how stupid this is, imagine that 0-0 LSU vs 0-0 K-State in a Texas Bowl would have more intrigue and would actually matter. Utterly bizarre to me that losers of the Sugar Bowl every year say “meh, we didn’t even care”. Coaches leaving and players opting out will accelerate this push to earlier in season.

plus the playoff wasn’t the original problem it was when they went from a few bowls to 60 bowls.
Explain to me how more bowl games is a problem. Didn't you just say you wanted more teams to participate?

If participation in the playoffs is the only thing that matters, then that significantly diminishes the regular season.

THAT'S the problem.

Exactly why playoff needs to be expanded to 12 teams.

Negative. Did you see the difference between no 1 and no 3 last night?

Do we really want to see no 1 vs no 12? What if a stud player tears an ACL in *that* game?

If we absolutely must have a damned playoff, then 4 teams is plenty.

it's shocking that some people actually believe this.

College football is the only major sport that didn't have a playoff to crown the champion. (and by the way, all other college football divisions - FCS, Div-II, Div-III - have had playoffs for decades).
And NCAA college football was infinitely more popular than those sports. Why, in your opinion was that?

I like our bowl matchup this year considering how the season went.

This.

It's nonsense to either vote on the champion, or have a very limited 2 or 4-team playoff.

...and people are starting to get tired of Alabama and three others being in this "playoff." At least Ohio State and Clemson didn't make the cut this year, but the NCG game is going to be between Alabama and Georgia with the exact outcome as the SEC Championship Game. I would love to see Michigan play Cincinnati in the finals, but I seriously doubt that will happen.

Umm, we pretty much already have had that in the "kick-off" series, many of which were not in regular home venues. LSU examples:

2010 - LSU vs. UNC in Atlanta (Kick Off Classic)
2011 - LSU vs. Oregon in Dallas (Cowboy Classic)
2013 - LSU vs. TCU in Dallas (Cowboy Classic)
2014 - LSU vs. Wisconsin in Houston (Texas Kickoff)
2016 - LSU vs. Wisconsin in Green Bay
2017 - LSU vs. BYU in Houston (Texas Kickoff; moved to Superdome in New Orleans due to hurricane)
2018 - LSU vs. Miami in Dallas (Advocare Classic)

2022 - LSU vs. Florida State in New Orleans

But why 12? Why not 6 or 8? Or better yet... just make the playoff between the P4 winners, and then the conf championship games axt like playoff games.

No. I could not care less. Seems like you can care less, though.
