Remember when Coach Jones brought pizza to the students waiting in line?

That shows that he is a good guy. He should get an extra couple year to right the ship due to that.

He could have bought pizza for the entire crowd at the PMAC this season. Only needed to spend about $115.00

Yep.

Yep. And he did. After the fiasco in the NCAA tournament against N.C. State, he got another year with a great recruiting class coming in. Then, after ANOTHER fiasco with that great recruiting class playing, he got ANOTHER year. And that year was one of the worst in the history of the program.

He's been given enough chances. It sucks that it didn't work out, but it didn't work out.

He's a good guy, that's been what's so hard about firing him.

It's time.

I have zero doubts JJ is a good guy that loves LSU. But after going 2-16 in conference play, we need to find someone else.

This isn't a charity. He's a nice guy that loves LSU, but he's a terrible coach. Hence why he is being fired.

There's plenty of nice guys who love LSU basketball who shouldn't be the head coach. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that for you and chinoyang

It shows that he's a good guy and that his skills lend themselves more to him being employed by Dominoes as a pizza delivery guy than as a head BB coach.

As one of those students I'll say he can't buy me out with just cheese. Didn't even spring for the meat lovers. That's when I knew the dude had to go.

He is a good guy. He did an excellent job of keeping the Simmons locker room issue in house. Those who are close to the program know what im referring to. The mere fact that he was able to shield his players from media questions has to be applauded.

A year later some of it has gotten out, but that does show he cares a great deal about his guys.........He isn't the type to throw his.players under the bus like someone else did at LSU.

And he took a lot of heat by not accepting the NIT bid...but anyone who was around that circus last year knew that the season needed to end when it did. The NIT would have just been another clusterfrick of a game that would have been a waste of everyone's time, energy, and resources. Simmons probably wouldn't have played, which would have created a huge distraction. I was in the minority, but I am glad they declined that bid and I understand why they did it.

I agree and I think you are right that Simmons would have sat it out. All in all, skipping the NIT probably saved the athletic department alot of heart burn even though it did prove to be a short distraction.
