Miles pulled Perrilloux away from Texas, lets not forget that. If he never messed up we might be looking at miles and the QB situation a little different.

I guess he assumed that the running game in 2016 would be so powerful it'd steamroll every team and keep the Bama game close.

Watson was from Georgia

No doubt. Point is, he was the best on his high school team, who played in a spread offense.

Yes, the former coach wanted an "Athlete with quick feet that could run real Fast" instead of a real QB with passing and defense reading skills.

He vainly tried to convert QB's in high school that were nothing more than glorified running backs into SEC caliber passing QB's. (With a very advanced Cam Cameron/NFL playbook)

Didn't work, but his massive ego/stubborness kept making him force the square peg into the round hole to show everybody that he was right............

I respectfully disagree on that point.

Russell Shepard-#1 dual threat
Jerrard Randal-#8 dual threat
Zach Lee-(lost to baseball)
Hayden Rettig-#3 pro style
Felipe Franks-#5 pro style (lost to FL amid rumors of Les getting fired)

Development, not recruiting, has been the downfall. Hang that on Cam. I guess you can also hang Cam on Les.

So was James Winston, Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning and Matt Stanford. I would choose more talent over less.

Perrilloux...number one QB recruit.

Pretty sure perriloux getting kicked off the team started the qb problems... lee was forced to start before he was ready.

Gotta look at it this way how can you recruit a qb when you run the ball 75% of the time what recruit would want to come here. And in saying that it's mind boggling the wr talent we've gotten and literally had no one to throw to them outside of Mett

Not once in Miles' entire career at LSU did he recruit a QB from HS and turn them into anything other than mediocre. NOT ONCE. And the NCAA championship he won was with a QB he had nothing to do with. Imagine what LSU would have looked like with a modern offense and Dak Prescott.

Sooooooo this guy was a glorified running back?? 4 Star, 3 ranked DT QB in the Nation, Top 75 recruit overall, Elite 11, had the following schools offer him (non of which offered him at RB):

LSU
Alabama (must have wanted a glorified RB )
Arizona State (must have wanted a glorified RB )
Arkansas (must have wanted a glorified RB
Auburn (must have wanted a glorified RB
Baylor (must have wanted a glorified RB
Houston (must have wanted a glorified RB
Indiana (must have wanted a glorified RB
Kansas (must have wanted a glorified RB
Louisiana Tech (must have wanted a glorified RB
Mississippi State (must have wanted a glorified RB
Nebraska  (must have wanted a glorified RB
North Carolina (must have wanted a glorified RB
Ohio State (must have wanted a glorified RB
Ole Miss (must have wanted a glorified RB
South Carolina (must have wanted a glorified RB
Texas A&M (must have wanted a glorified RB

Threw for 3100+ yds 34 TDs his senior year, an UA all american, was "nothing more than a glorified running back".

Lets watch an see what UNC does with him? Recruitment wasnt the problem. Development was.

This is the hardest thing to understand. Miles clearly wanted to keep coaching, and it was known that the offense must change. And he simply refused to change it, even though his best years were when he did open it up some.

I agree with your point, but Miles' best year was 2011, and he ran a prehistoric offense that year. Statistics might fool you into believing otherwise, but that offense was the old Al Davis one. They pounded the football, then threw the bomb.
